Who is the last tOSU starting QB that can say that? (spoiler: you have to go back a long way).
Bellasari never won a pair as a starter. I know that for a fact.

Herbie in '92. The year after Graham. Was it Kent Graham?

I'm kind of the same. The "this game doesn't define us" comment really bugged me. Honestly, it makes me angrier at Ryan Day than anything. I cannot imagine a Tressel or Meyer QB being that flippant if they got their ass beat AT HOME by ttun...especially with all of the motivation they provided. Fuck outta here with that shit, man.As I reflect back on my pettiness since Saturday, one thing that I really wish would've changed post-game was for CJ to either not go the podium, not answer some questions, or do a Knowles and just accept the accountability and move on. People are much more resistance to pile on with the vitriol if one apologizes or accepts the roles played in certain outcomes (regardless of whether it's correct or not).
But alas, he's a spokesman for the team at every time and chance.
Nonetheless, I'm pleased that he's donned the S&G. I wish him the best in all of his endeavors.
I just choose to blame coaches.
after all they are men and they are 40 (+)
CJ played two playoff caliber Michigan teams and lost in good part because of the defense
I love Braxton and JT but they played garbage fire Michigan teams for the better part of a decade
I feel like I should clarify that I am not in any way laying that loss (or the previous) solely at CJ's feet. I thought he actually played pretty well. His receivers definitely fucked him over. At the same time, he's the face of the team and supposedly the leader (as any QB is). I did not once see him trying to verbally rally his guys. That's one of the major issues I have with him; he seems to "mechanical." Show some fucking emotion. Get in some guys faces. Do SOMETHING. Most of all, don't say shit in your post game press avail to make it seem like "eh, we lost, not a big deal."
Frankly, CJ doesn't owe NFBuck from BuckeyePlanet a goddamned thing. I know that. But, own your shortcomings, my man. You're 0-2 in the two most important games you'll play at tOSU. It very much DOES define you in the eyes of 95% of the people that love the team you play for.
Slight hesitance by CJ did cause 2 of the bigger incompletions. He's seemed tense and hesitant all year, why? who knows, but it's been there, especially in the second part of the season.
The 4th down to stover and the shoulda been TD to stover that got broken up by the midget former WR. If Stroud throws those balls just a bit earlier they are both catches. I guess you could say "well they shoulda been caught anyway" but Stroud is at fault too.
Robotic I agree, but a flawed robot.
Day does seem to coach QBs to see it before they throw it. It was similar with Fields. Led to amazing TD/INT ratios but also a lot of hesitancy
Would we have had the record we did the past two years without him? We're harsh because we lived through the John Cooper years. Cooper QBs won a lot of games, but had bad records against TTUN. Like it or not, Buckeyes are always judged by their successes and failures against scUM. That's how it's always been and always will be. Tressel and Meyer's players got that. Judging by CJ's post game comments, it would appear he doesn't. That might be more on Ryan Day than CJ, but it is what it is.
I think CJ is an immensely talented QB. He seems like an incredible young man. BUT, he went 0-2 in The Game. 20 years from now, will people remember the gaudy stats, Heisman Ceremony invites and blowout wins against B1G also rans, or will they remember that he lost 2 in a row in The Game after tOSU had gone 17-2 in the previous 19? We all know the answer. That's being a Buckeye...it just is.
Quinn Ewers went 9-4 and hewas average with UT..he probably goes 11-1 with our roster but nothing would’ve changed Saturday.Would we have had the record we did the past two years without him?
I don't know. QBs have performed extremely well under Ryan Day. So quite possibly. But that doesn't mean as much to me when he's 0-2 against ttun.Would we have had the record we did the past two years without him?
