QB Cardale '12 Gauge' Jones (B1G Champion, National Champion)

Our OL is one of the best in the B1G. EE is averaging 6 ypc. Cardale is averaging close to 9 ypc. Smith, Thomas and Spencer are seasoned receivers. As are Hueverman and Vannett at TE. Marshall can be spectacular. CJ's surrounding cast is as good as he could hope for. Meyer and Herman know Cardale's strengths and will put him in a position to win. I think we move the ball on Offense. We just can't turnover the ball.

This makes no sense to me either. No question, JT is excellent at making the correct reads but when he keeps it he is an effective but not great runner. Cardale, on the other hand, should be absurd as a running QB. It's one thing to prepare for and visualize having to tackle a 250 lb QB with some speed (he's not Jared Lorenzen) and it's COMPLETELY different to actually have to do it. You might do it once but even if you're successful, you don't want to have to do it again.

The only thing that bothers me about Cardale's running is that he tends to be tentative in short yardage situations and he lets people get into his legs. If he puts his shoulder down and goes no one is stopping him from that necessary 1 yard gain like he was stopped on his first run against Michigan.

But at what point do you refrain from risking a shoulder injury.

I am looking forward to seeing this young man on the field this Saturday. If he can manage the offense (i.e. not try too hard and make mistakes due to forcing things that are not there) I think the Buckeyes win by 10 or more.
