But I still think they would need to take a core curriculum of arts, humanities, science and math just like any other major, and therein lies the rub. Some student athletes are never going to accept having to take even a peripheral academic core, and to abandon that makes the degree a total sham to the point of bringing the university's integrity into question.
Even a university as narrowly focused as Julliard requires a core liberal arts curriculum. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a university but rather a glorified trade school.
