QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

We better hope and pray Boeckman is solid under center and stays healthy!
The way I see it is.......

Boeckman must play well and stay healthy.
Wells must not fumble and stay healthy.
Starting WRs must produce and spread the field. (see Ray Small)
TEs must be a factor.
This offense will not score 38 points a game!

We will need the defense to be dominate.

We will need the special teams to be outstanding.

And we still could lose 3-4 games!

I doubt that. I really think that next year's team will be quite good, but still have 1-2 losses for a pretty successfull season. I don't see us losing more then 2 or so games, 3 at the worst, because our 2 "big" games are Wisconsin and scUM, and I think that we could atleast win 1 of those, and if we get really lucky, both.

do you mean the raiders or cooper?

newsflash their youngster: coopers team never got taken to the woodshed like that in a bowl game. i think its now been proven that tressels team are above (or below) showing up with a premadonna attitude and getting smoked...

i know this is not really the place for this, but to back you...
would people rather us have kids of questionable charachter and tons of talent or great kids (95% are truly great kids) who may get beat once in a while.

this was the first time since the FSU sugar bowl that we got smoked and people freak.

Henton may not see much action this season, but tOSU is not going to waste a full ride on somebody who they don't think can improve the team.

Didn't they get smoked by Florida St. in the Sugar Bowl? And I'm a little confused by your post. What are you getting at with Tressel?

I certainly hope Henton has the mindset of being, and working to be, the starter for next season. That kind of confidence can only be a good thing no matter who ultimately ends up as starter.

Anyone who watched Antonio Henton's performance in his final high school game for the Georgia state championship knows there is reason to be excited. He made all the right throws, short and long, and had some breathtaking runs.

Henton opens eyes with flashy play

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

Antonio Henton still has a lot to learn, but yesterday's Ohio State scrimmage would have been an offensive snoozer without a couple of the freshman quarterback's spectacular plays. He showed flashes of why teammates say he could be the second coming of Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith. Henton is battling junior Todd Boeckman and sophomore Rob Schoenhoft for the starting job.
"He's very quick and deceptive. He's kind of hard to hit when he keeps moving, kind of like Troy was," defensive end Lawrence Wilson said.

From what we've been hearing it seems like Henton is where he needs to be as far as progression...a lot of work is needed, but the ability and skill are both there.

From what we know about Tressel's m.o., it would stand to reason that the upperclassman (Boeckmann) would get the job. However, he might be remembering the 2004 season.

Who knows? Maybe Henton is everything he said he was last January. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough.

I don't get it. Who's "he?" And why are we remembering a season when a sophomore quarterback beat out a sophomore quarterback, who, in turn, got the starting position due to an injury to the first sophomore?

Henton may become superman, but I don't see him being the first quarterback to take a snap from center on Ohio State's offense this year.

"He" is Tressel. Sorry I wasn't clear.
