QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

umm... interesting comments by antonio. he definitely needs to be tresselfied. and why didn't he just promise three heismans?
It will happen. Remember the mouth Troy had on him as a Frosh and Sophomore? Sometimes a brash attitude is a very good thing for a young QB, so long as he doesn't go too far. Shows confidence, which is something many young signal callers lack.

I only saw one Buckeye game in person this year, so I really don't have a whole lot to go on...but after watching Henton in the warm-ups prior to the Penn State game, I was not particularly impressed with his touch on the ball. Sure, it could mean nothing, since he wasn't planning on playing and it was just warm-ups....but, his ball was consistently flat and to the backside of his target. It was a noticeable contrast to Troy's ball. I remain a little skeptical that Henton is going to be one of the best quarterbacks in the country in the next few years.

I'd wager that Todd B. or Robbie will be the starter to begin the season next year, with Henton waiting for one of them to screw up.

I just have this feeling that Tressel will become much more conservative with the offense next season with the loss of most of our explosion.

Fair enough, but you were watching a Freshman who was redshirting as opposed to a Heisman Trophy winning QB. Let's trust the coaches on this one.:wink2:

I like this kid's potential as well. But I don't see anyone starting over Todd to start the year. Todd's been in this program 4 years and knows the system. I think next year will be a rebuilding year and JT will need a guy under center that plays within the system and doesn't try to do too much. I expect a heavy dose of Beanie and back to the field position game. Just my opinion as always.

A mostly veteran O-line. A big-time runningback. Still a fairly deep WR corp. If Antonio has more potential than either Boeckman or Schoenhoft. I would think that next year would be an ideal time to get real game experience.

Completly agree. Next year will be a rather easy year for whoever QB's, Why not give experince to the man who will be running this program?

I personally think Boeckman will run the show and then borrow one from Urban, doing a Teabow with Henton. I have higher expectations for 07 than 06 due to the following. Tressel ball returns with ball control and field position. This years NC Game was the only game I can remember watching Mr. Vest go away from his own formula. An excellent example is 3 straight passes after our Defense finally stopped Florida for the first time was way out the ordinary. We will be going to the Wells quite a bit in 07. Chris is special and Maurice has experience and was just behind only the fifth RB ever to go back to back 1k seasons. I think the schedule is very favorable with Penn State and Michigan very tough games but Morreli does not scare me with our D and Michigan has to replace a lot of talent as well.

Keep in mind, whether or not Henton overtakes Robbie or Todd, he is a different type of QB than both of him and that should be good enough to get him on the 2-deep IMHO. If he doesn't start, I could easily see him as the backup with the #3 possibly transferring (just a thought).
