QB Antonio Henton (transfer to Ga. Southern and FT. Valley St.)

I have often been told I have skills that cannot be coached.
Not because they're good skills, but that it would be morally wrong to coach them. :wink2:

Nice to hear about Henton. I like Boeckman, and haven't seen enough of Schoenhoft to have an opinion, but it's good to hear that we've got another young guy making big strides in his development.

In all honesty, and this is just this posters opinion, the faster Henton can get on the field, the better. Would make the transition from Troy more seamless. I like Boeckmans arm, but he is a totally different QB from TS. I don't know enough about Robbie to speak on him much, but from what I gather, he has a pretty big arm with some more mobility. If Antonio's skills are as great as we have been hearing, the sooner he see's the field, the better IMO. That's not to say I want to rush him onto the field, but having a mentor/protege( I just saw that Seinfeld episode today:biggrin:) relationship with the best QB in the nation should definately hasten his development.

Buckeye Extra
Next QB? It will be one of three - Boeckman, Schoenhoft, Henton will compete to replace Smith

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH

GLENDALE, Ariz. ? He hasn?t played a down at Ohio State, but Antonio Henton already is leading the Buckeyes in bravado.
Sitting in the University of Phoenix Stadium stands Jan. 5, the redshirt freshman quarterback made a bold prediction about the future of the position.
Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith and backup Justin Zwick both are done, and Henton is one of three players who will compete for the starting job in 2007.
"I think if I win the job and I have four years (to start), there?s no doubt that I (will) be the next Heisman winner at Ohio State," he said.
Wow. No doubt?
"That?s right, no doubt," he said.

I just want to win some balls games, but I think Henton's scrambling ability gives us that same demension TROY gave us. We need to be able to run the options and that sort. Hopefully Henton can win the job so we can put a little bit more athletic ability at QB, because having a less mobile QB makes me nervous since we're losing Ginn/Gonzo/Pittman... Thats already too much speed to be losing early. This offense will need a spark other than Chris Wells.
