Purdue at tOSU, Nov 13th, 3:30 ET, ABC

That's the one thing they have. Their big QB can stand in the pocket and get short passes out under duress like you just can't believe.

Even that one thing they have though, the dude is TO prone.

They can't run at all. They have no vertical passing attack or demonstrated any ability to give the QB time to do it if they had the receivers.

Their defense gives up an absurd amount of yards per catch and isn't very good against the run.

If OSU doesn't help with penalties and turnovers the only shot Purdue has is to posses the ball with the short passing attack and hope their QB doesn't turn it over in doing so.

Those aren't great odds if you are Purdue.
The College Football Nerds brought up how they struggled against Wisconsin because Wisconsin wasn’t afraid of the run at all and sat in zone (aka being solid against the dump off passes in the flats) and brought pressure from all over the place to disrupt timing.

That sounds exactly like what Ohio State is currently doing on D most of the time.

Meanwhile MSU, as I observed against UM (while not watching their game against Purdue) looks a lot more like what Ohio State did early in the year with man on the edge and getting torched constantly with short stuff over the middle and LBs desperately trying too keep up with RBs out of the backfield and pre-snap motion.

They also pointed out that Purdue has struggled against “modern” offenses with RPO concepts because they don’t have the athletes to cover in space, while excelling against the outdated offenses who are stuck in the past (Iowa, MSU).

Home field.

Motivation to 1) do better in the run game after two flat weeks and 2) shut up the “Purdue are giant killers” talk.

A defense that runs what they have struggled against.

An offense that runs what they have struggled against.

Superior talent across the board.

I think this is lining up to be an ass kicking, barring an absolutely awful performance from Stroud and/or inexplicably bad play calling again.

Agree with everything you said but I think the most likely form of help the Buckeyes could give will be in the form of penalties and turnovers.

Clean that up/avoid those and this should be a proper ass beating.

That pass flew into Jenkins' hands in front of my very eyes. Best Buckeye memory I have, strangers were hugging each other to the ground in the stadium over that play. This year I'm hoping we come in with a chip on our shoulder and dominate like we should. Purdue is solid and turns into world beaters against good opponents, but we should win comfortably if we play to our talent level and cut out the mental mistakes.

I say I care but I don’t really care. I want OSU to win every game it ever plays but in 16 days the only game that matters will be played.

Fuck Purdue, fuck Sparty, fuck the B1G CG and fuck the playoffs. I just don’t care.

Win The Game.

We were robbed of our birthright last year by a cowardly cunt of a retard. I want to see him suffer. I want to see them all suffer.

Fuck *ichigan.
