The guy who voted us #1 stated that he voted as such not because he felt we were the best team now but would be the best by season's end. Us being the best team in the country by December is quite believable despite our current overall inexperience, whereas you have to be on some pretty hefty reefer to event think scUM will be...

I mean why not? Are we? Probably not. However all of these rankings are opinions anyways and if your logic is by years end we have as good of a shot as anyone once our guys get some experience.

If we are going to lose we need to lose early in the year like 14 or otherwise it won't matter how well we are playing late in the year if we lose in November again.

The closer the season comes the more confident I'm getting in our guys... and I think it's because of the lack of tough talk by Urban. You can tell there's a quiet confidence in UFM as well as this team. Which I'm not surprised considering how Scum is a popular pick in the big ten and how Sparty again took our dreams away last year. Urban has had to temper his excitement regarding this team (and he has said as much) which to me speaks volumes.

If we get by Oklahoma... no stopping this freight train

If we lose early then it'll be to Oklahoma, and that cannot happen. I have a brother-in-law whose family is from Oklahoma so he was born and raised a Sooner. Cannot be allowed to happen. Thanksgiving and Christmas will suck balls.

I don't necessarily disagree.....but he has to say that because his real reason of "I only fill out polls to get attention for being different" wouldn't go over as well.

Have to admit, Bama's win is probably the most impressive win of the weekend so far. Hurts adds a new dimension to an already potent Bama offense. Fully deserving of their #1 ranking. However, losses by LSU and OU now probably put us in the top-4.

Yeah. Bama will likely be unanimous no 1. Assuming a FSU win we'll see them and Clemson at 2-3 and I wouldn't be surprised to see Stanford, a and m and Georgia jump a lot. If Ole Piss wins they will vault because Bama needs a setup for a top 5 win with lsu knocked out. If ole piss loses look for an even bigger jump for a and m. Because sec. Buckeyes probably sitting at 5 just because other teams schedule p5. Though I'd probably take bg over Kansas state.

With what we did to a decent/good MAC team, there's no way we don't move up to #4 if FSU wins, and #3 if FSU loses. Hell, with the way Clemson struggled at Auburn, FSU could jump them if they blow out Pissinhippy, and if FSU loses a close game, we could also possibly jump Clemson.

I'm against jumping a team that played close against a P5 team when you blowout a G5 team. Auburn has much better players than BG, even though they had a bad couple of years. BG isn't an fcs team, but they are also rebuilding from last year. If we beat ok lama I expect the jump then.
