OSU smashed Nebraska. I'm not sure how good either of those wins are.

Washington is a hard team to gauge, I think they are good, but are they elite? probably not

Their "marquee" win this year is Utah who is seemingly just an ok 8-2 team, besides beating USC, their 2nd best win is BYU which isnt saying much, and they lost to Cal

Note that most bowls matching SEC and B1G teams have a higher-standing (rank in conference) SEC team, e.g., #5 SEC team vs. #6 B1G team...

Ah....because bowl games are equal teams pitted against each other. At neutral sites. And teams playing in the who gives a crap.com bowl are all really stoked to be representing their conference, so that one game is a great representation of the entire conference as a whole.

Yep.....I'm a big proponent of using bowl records to determine conference superiority, as you can see.
