I heard on the radio that he later saw video that showed it was a first down - or that there was insufficient evidence to over turn the spot on the field - and walked back his remarks. Of course, he didn't walk back his ranking... which is really the "problem" here. Although, the AP poll doesn't really mean anything, it speaks volumes that these "objective" pollsters are nothing of the kind. Not that that's news, just sayin... when people like this guy go on these paths they should have their poll voting rights revoked.

Still a joke. One would think that finishing with the same record as Oklahoma, having beaten them at their place at night and having actually made the playoff, that Ohio State would at least finish above them. They really shouldn't be any lower than 4 if we are using any form of common sense but, you know, common sense and polls is another story. Two spots back of a Washington team who was #4 when Ohio State was #3, both teams losing in a game in which they weren't competitive, but one losing to the eventual champions and dropping to #6 while the other stays at #4 doesn't really make any sense either.

I wouldn't give voters that much credit. We got dinged, and deservedly so, for one of the worst bowl performances of the entire season. I doubt Penn State and Michigan pulling out their games out late would've done anything for us.
