I could say the same about Eugene though.
UW is a much better school in a much better location than Oregon... they'll never be a consistent power but 9wins isn't asking for much in a division w/Or St, WSU, Cal, and Stanford.
He couldn't get it done when California recruiting was open season ....can't see him consistently getting 10+ at USC... which is the minimum expectations there.

You'd think the Huskies would be happy with 7 win Sark. That's still 2 more wins than Willingham ever had, and for some seasons thats 7 wins more :lol:
Yeah, I'm not ready to crown Sark USC's savior, but I think he's at least a bit better than Kiffin and doesn't have to contend with the sanctions anymore. In any case, I think the moderate turn around that Sark performed at Washington has shown that he can be an okay head coach. Kiffin can't really say that, every stop he's been in charge of has crumbled essentially. I certainly don't look forward to the day that USC becomes a real national power again, I'd like nothing more than to see them stay a 7-5ish team...once USC starts rolling they play that damned fight song after every 1st down.

I have a friend who played LB at Stanford in the early/mid 90s. He told me that for the week leading up to USC, they play the song the whole time during every practice so that it doesn't irritate them as much during the game. Probably the stupidest fight song in all college football, outside of scUM.

Actually, though they play the fight song a great deal, it's that fucking imitation Trojan fanfare stolen from some B film that gets played between each play. It's still irritating as hell.

That would be "Conquest" from the 1947 movie "Captain from Castile". We actually played that in our high school marching band in the early '70s.
