Preseason and Regular Season Polls (2015)

Play better and you get more respect would make sense if Ohio State hadn't played better the last 2 weeks and lost votes.

Being tied at 21 with Maryland in the third quarter isn't going to do it IMO. Neither is Penn State being in the red zone with a chance to cut the lead to 7 in the 4th quarter. I get what you're saying but the perception may be what I just posted.

Penn State was 5-1 going into the game, so being up "only" 24-10 early in the fourth isn't quite as bad as you insinuate, especially considering we ended up winning by 28 points.

Apply that perception fairly and the rest of the top 10 has issues of their own.

LSU was up by 1 on Syracuse at the half, only won by 10. The next week they went into the 4th quarter, at home, up on Eastern Michigan 30-22. Led by 6 at the half.

while struggling with the NIU, Indiana, Massillon part of our schedule...we actually gained votes. playing our best 2 games of the year (maybe VT was as good/better) makes us lose votes.

I'll stick with my first thought of the pollsters being idiots.

Ole Miss still ranked......Lol

Clearly it's a good loss to a ranked team (what they weren't even ranked last week?). Besides Memphis is in Tennessee... they're totally SEC...

Speaking of which there's currently another shitty team w/questionable history in the top25 whose 5-2 with losses to 2 ranked teams (including a Mid Major).

This is the week we fall to #2 and I blame 3-3 Rutgers
We will fall to number 2 until baylor finally plays a real team and loses. So won't be until jan 1. Looked at their schedule and there isn't a team on there that I would consider top 10. Oklahoma is hot and cold at best and lost to a terrible texas should have lost to a mediocre Tennessee. Ksu just got ass raped by that Oklahoma team. Tcu should have lost to that mediocre Ksu team and the terrible minny team and the mediocre Texas tech squad. I don't think that any teams in the big 12 could remotely compete with the top 2-3 in any other conference. So yes, baylor will enter playoffs as no 1 and get their ass ripped apart by whoever is no 4.

This is how I feel too. 1, 2, 3, 4. I don't give a Mark May. The Playoff rankings won't mirror the AP or coaches' rankings. And we (Ohio State) aren't getting a "home" bowl game, anyway, regardless of what we're ranked. The sites are Orange (Miami) and Cotton (Dallas) bowls. Does anyone choose which one we go to, if we're #1? If so, the only advantage to one over the other is if we can know who the #4 team is; maybe we can make it a neutral site game instead of an away game. Other than that, blah blah blah. Strength of schedule, stink in the pants - it's all just words for the media to use.
