Cudicini has been in goal for all of the cup matches this season. Putting him in the team today was probably to reward him, and also to keep Friedel fresh for this week's Premiership match. Neither of them is a spring chicken. Friedel also has a record streak of Premiership starts that he's trying to keep going.

Cudicini has been shaky, but I can't say for sure that the score line would be any different if Granddad Brad were in goal instead.

Both matches highlighted two major problems with FIFA and FA soccer:

1. Lack of goal-line technology. It's 20-fucking-12. It's a game where often one goal wins the match and it doesn't take very long to review. This needs to be added like 15 years ago.

2. Review of diving. FA needs to have the ability to review dives and issue retroactive red cards and suspensions. What Ashley Young did today is an embarrassment to the sport and he's not alone.


On a side note, great Messi clip. His toughness is just one of many reasons why he is the G.O.A.T. #SuckItPele
