Both teams have had their chances, but City have looked more dangerous on theirs, as you'd expect. Friedel has had to come up big a couple times.
I agree with the commentators, Defoe is not suited to the role of being at the front by himself. The next option today is Pavlyuchenko, which is untenable in a match as big as this one. Today really underscores the need to bring on another striker, either somebody you can pair with Defoe or somebody who can play on his own in Defoe's place. What would they do if Adebayor were lost to injury or discipline?
Also, Balotelli has a landing strip on top of his head. I'm going to assume he realizes that and just doesn't give a fuck.
