Premier League (Official Thread)

Villa is a decent choice with Randy Lerner as their owner too...though that means they will probably never win anything.

Butt-ugly colors and kits. They serve a useful purpose though as a shiny object to distract him and prevent him from making football decisions with the Browns.

The more and more I look at this team, the more I like their chances in the EPL this year.

It also looks like Nasri will join them some time this week. It gives them another player with creativity along with Silva. Man City has more talent than anybody in the league. The only question is if they can put it together.

:highfive:

Arsenal needs Carlos Teves and a Midfielder, desperately. Or else Arsenal is in for a long agonizing season.

Meanwhile, how about Gabe Agbonlahor's play today against Blackburn? WOW, he's got some nice finesse to his shot!

OK, so I'm still a bit of a free agent when it comes to the EPL... I've watched with some interest from afar but have never adopted a team. Anybody care to offer some suggestions?

Any input from the crowd before I take the plunge?

Yeah, it's not EPL, but after this video I'm quickly becoming a Getafe F.C. supporter. Here's to hoping the strike doesn't last too long.

Tevez will never end up at Arsenal. The wages he earns would shatter their pay structure.

It looks like Everton are in deep financial trouble, which is nice.

Spurs making moves.
Tottenham Hotspur signed Togolese forward Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City for the rest of the 2011/12 season.

Milan making a good move towards competing in this years UEFA CL. (Not EPL, I know but there is no Serie A thread)

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani will return to Italy with AC Milan for the rest of the season after agreeing a loan move to the San Siro.

Ha ha, excellent. Spurs could have conceded seven or eight on Monday so what does old scrotum face Redknapp do? He goes and gets a shiny new striker. I give it until October before he's moaning about how his defence is "down to the bare bones" and how he can't wait for the January transfer window to open because he wants to "bring two or three more in".

They had to make some kind of attacking move after City nabbed up Aguero.

Spurs never stood a chance of getting Aguero. Only three clubs in England could afford the wages he's on, and Spurs is not one of them. Plus he wanted CL football, which they're not in a position to offer now, and probably won't be for quite some time.

I sort of agree that their attacking options need a boost - Defoe is done as a top level PL striker and Crouch is not good enough to play regularly for a team which aspires to a top 4 finish - but Redknapp has only himself to blame after wasting so much on a clearly washed-up Keane and humiliating Bent before forcing him out. He's been there for nearly three years now, with a revolving door policy so far as player recruitment is concerned, yet his obsession with midfielders and strikers means he is still relying on Ledley King to carry an otherwise woeful defence.
