Predictions for 2014 season

1) After last year's 'redshirting', over 1/2 of the incoming freshmen will play.

2) Either Jamarco Jones or Demetrious Knox will either start by mid-year, or play more minutes than the person in that position who does start.

3) Braxton will 'carry' the O until the OL sorts out, but get injured for at least 1/2 game.

4) Blow-out win against Michigan.

5) Brady Hoke is removed from Michigan as coach.

6) A WR not listed on the two-deep (pre-camp) will have the most catches this year.

7) tOSU will have 6 TDs from punt & kick-off returns.

8) A game will be lost on a last second FG miss.

9) The defensive backfield will reduce the yards gained against by 1/4, and TDs against by 10%.

10) tOSU will make the initial four team play-off, and win the first game if the team is not named Alabama.

11) Braxton will be invited to New York for Heisman award.

I'll play. Here's (images attached below) part of what VRB sent USAT a couple months ago. I'm not sure it would be all that different now if he had to update it.

While I have 3-4 regular season games as big question marks, I'm hard pressed to say we'll lose any of them unless the secondary is as catastrophically bad as it was last year (and it just plain won't be). Indeed, I actually think the secondary is going to be tight; in part because of scheming less bipolar in nature, partly because of young talent, partly because of the radiating benefit of the DL. I'm more concerned about the LBs, and hope to be glowing about the likes of Perry and perhaps a newcomer like Raekwon early and often.

So I'll call the undefeated regular season with the note that 1 loss wouldn't at all surprise me, 2 would, and 3 or more would just blow me out of the water.

I think Miller will be great, but not Heisman great. I expect to see a QB2 get early season play (perhaps more than Kenny G in 2013) to prepare them for what seems to be an inevitable game (in whole or in part) with Miller nursing an injury related to his physical style of play. I agree with those who say there will be a new hype-generating game breaker (Dixon/Clark/Marshall/etc.) to add to the indefensible terror that our offense can be at times. Zeke will go over 1000 rushing, Dontre over 1000 all-purpose. I think we're going to talk about Bri'onte Dunn more than once as well; something is there. Miller's rushing yards will decrease, but some of his runs will be (again) spectacular and long.

I think VaTech is going to roll over and play dead early, and I think Navy will get a lot of yards but lose bigger than the goat in me would probably like. I think my old ass will be tired of night games before we're halfway through them. I think Hoke is done, I think MSU will have a very Tressel-like 1-2 loss somewhat-yawn-inducing year deflating some of the hype there, even though that will further entrench them as the standing #2 in the conference.

I also think I'll have a very interesting December. And finally -- for the second year in a row, an SEC team will NOT win the title. Yet media perception of the conference talent gap won't catch up with the reality.

I just re-watched Ohio State @ NW this morning. The Buckeyes out-classed the Wildcats everywhere, but they turned the ball over 3 times (once going in for a score, another killing a promising drive, and another giving NW good field position which they cashed in for 7). Ohio State was down 10 at half, and 3 early in the 4th. When they finally decided to take care of the ball they got a 4 point lead that turned into a 10 point victory on a fluke play at the end. Point is, I don't care how good you are, if you turn the ball over enough, especially near either goal, you can be beat.

Ohio State will probably have one of those games. Hopefully they will be able to overcome it like they did at NW.

That said, my pre-season optimism has them going 12-0 because of the following:

1) The O line will be better than people think
2) Braxton will stay healthy and play every game
3) The WR corps will be the best we have ever seen
4) Ezekiel Elliot and Dontre Wilson will have breakout years
5) Our freshman kicker will win a game anyway
6) Our defense will not give up more than 23 points in any game

I will attend a Buckeye Alumni gathering in a city to be determined, as "Georgio Stratavarius, former tOSU All-American OL" and claim to have recovered a Stanley Jackson fumble in the endzone for a TD in the 97 Rose Bowl.

The bolded is what makes your story so believable. How much for the signed ball? In fact, I will just send you a blank check and you can make that call.

4 & 5 above: pizza man is going to have to raise money, les Myles will have to polish off his refusal speech, harbaugh 1 & 2 will laugh, and in the end we'll find out that no big name coaches want the job at the level of money pizza man is allowed to spend.

Of course it's possible. If OSU loses to MSU (which Mili says "may" happen), then it is very, very likely that OSU doesn't win the division (Mili says there is "no way" that happens). Hence the inconsistency.
Even if MSU happens to beat us, I still see MSU losing another game or two. And even though I said we "may" lose to MSU, I doubt we do. The worst we do is one loss in conference play...I don't see MSU matching or bettering that.
