With Braxton moving to H-back, I still think JT and Cardale will rotate situationally.

Then again, if JT is the starter Cardale will still get plenty of time to boost his draft stock in mop up duty for most games.

It seems unlikely the "starter" would need to go more than a half if things go well in quite a few games.

I don't think they can rotate qb's either j t or cardale is the starter ,I can see both on the field for a few trick plays but that's it

How would you compare him to Seattle's Wilson since I see them as similarly skilled?
Wilson has a pretty nice arm by nfl standards. He was a 4th round pick in the MLB draft. Barrett has a mediocre arm by college standards and a terrible one by nfl standards.

That won't stop him from doing great things at osu, especially if he continues to develop as a passer. His intelligence and mobility may be enough to have a shot in the NFL but it won't be as a high draft pick.

I think both guys have some similarities in their cerebral approach to the game, their underrated mobility, their chain moving feet (versus game breaking athleticism of a guy like Miller who is incredibly explosive but is not as comfortable in the pocket or picking up short gains in the option like JT or Wilson).

I think he'll arrive in the NFL as a lower commodity and stick for a few years if he gets the right spot.

I think if JT is ready to go for Game 1, he's got to get the nod. His evolution through last season was amazing to watch. He always seemed to keep his cool. Even when he went down with the injury, he stayed remarkably calm.

What Cardale was able to accomplish was ridiculous. He came out determined and ready to shut up any doubters. I absolutely think he will have a specific set of balanced plays where he will be able to come in and make a huge difference. Be it a tough 3rd and 7 or a red zone play with Braxton split out.

Thanks. What you say makes sense. and defines the difference between the two games; NFL and CFB.

Urban had some success at Florida rotating QBs in 2006. It can be done.
While I agree it can work due to Urban's success in 2006.. (why is it everytime I think of 2006 I think of Troy running away from Harvey and then getting sacked? fuck 2006)

While I agree, I think it's much different this time around. Leak while he was a thrower wasn't as concerning as a runner and with JT/Cardale you have it all with either. Tebow had to play because he completed the running part of a QB that Urban has always had and Leak had to play because Tim just wasn't ready from a mental/throwing stand point.

I'll ask a question? What scenerio's would you guys think can come up where we insert a QB other than the named starter to get a specific skill set? Only thing I could think of was possibly putting Cardale in on Short yard situations (it failed in the season though one time) or putting Cardale on the field for a Hail Mary situation (before the half of course because we ain't losing IMO). I don't really see the need to substitute either of them if named the starter because I feel both can run and throw.

I dont think it will be situationally either. Probably something like one guy goes in knowing which series he will play-say CJ gets the first two offensive series and JTB gets the first two in the second quarter. As time passes I think it will be more "package like." Similar offensive sets with the plays they run best/that match their skills. MSU is going to have to prepare for everything Urban has run since Bowling Green.

I just don't agree with a 2 QB system or situationally. QBs need to get into a rhythm with throwing and why break that? If sat JT is hitting 8 straight passes, why would you take him out and break that? Same goes if Cardale were named the starter. I agree with the previous poster in that the 2006 Gators team had to use 2 QBs in order to fully utilize the offensive system. Luckily OSU has 2 QBs that are very athletic. But IMO, if a guy gets hot the last thing you want to do is mess with his rhythm if he's connecting with his WRs
