I'm lining up all 3 QBs on offense at some point. Let ESPN and ABC get into these coaches' heads during the week talking about 'what's Urban gonna do?'. Hand it off to Cardale up the middle so he can autopsy a safety. Pitch it out wide to Brax so he can disembowel a defensive backfield. JT can smoke a hand rolled cigar as he laughs because the defense fell for both decoys and then he runs for a TD. A bunch of possibilities.

I like what you're selling, and would like to sign up for your newsletter.
Seriously, I'd be surprised if Ohio State DIDN'T do this, at least against a lesser team when Ohio State is already up by 4 touchdowns. Do it a couple of times to make future opponents spend a couple of extra minutes in practice every day trying to defend it.

Barrett's my choice. Cardale's great too, but Barrett is super smooth running this offense and he is more of a natural runner as well.

I love Miller, but even if his arm is at the same level it was pre-injury he hasn't played/practiced in over a year. He's a phenomenal talent, but when you're going up against guys like Cardale and Barrett, I don't think you can make up that time in only ~2 months. Hopefully he can prove me wrong.

This is going to be one of those bits of "inside info" but...

At least one of the '15 recruits believes Cardale will be the starter.

Is that based on any additional info than what any of us have? I really don't know, but there it is.

I've said all along, I think Cardale gets most of the reps and Braxton comes in situationally in the red zone and short yardage situations.

I do think Braxton takes the first snap of the first game as a nod to his commitment and importance to the team.

JT will sit this year out and be the man next season with Cardale and Brqxton gone... with Gibson coming in situationally.

Several anonymous Power Five coaches shares how he might approach a QB competition like the one taking place at Ohio State:

So how long can three quarterbacks compete once camp begins? Realistically, not very long. “You have 29 practices before the first game,” one coordinator said. “I’d try to eliminate one after about eight practices.” That’s why every rep one of the potential starters takes must matter. “You’ve got to be creative as a coach and put them in situations where they feel it’s like life or death in a way,” the same coordinator said. “They’ve got to treat every rep seriously.”

One coordinator said the Buckeyes also might consider keeping a package in for the second or third quarterback to use as a change of pace. This probably involves Jones either as the starter or as the change-up because Miller and Barrett have similar skill sets. We know Meyer can pull off the arrangement. After all, he won a national title at Florida in 2006 with senior Chris Leak starting and freshman Tim Tebow playing periodically. “Do I package stuff for them?” the coordinator said. “Sometimes that turns into a headache.”

Want to see this as the most first round selections. If jt starts he will be a first rounder in 2016. Brax will be a first rounder as h back. Cardale will be a 5th rounder. And then we have zero guysin 2016 season. In braxton starts he won't get drafted, cardale will be 5th rounder and JT will be first rounder in 2017. If cardale starts he will be first rounder in 16 braxton will be first rounder in 16 as h back. Jt will be first rounder in 17. Ummm. Seeing as all can take us to national title I'm cheering for cardale Only because I want to see these guys succeed in the NFL.

There's little to no chance of that happening in any draft year. His arm is very weak by NFL standards and it's pretty obvious that this offense makes solid QBs look great.
Brax will be a first rounder as h back.
I think injury concerns will make teams hesitate, but he has 1st-2nd round talent.
Cardale will be a 5th rounder.
You have your QBs backwards. JT is a mid-rounder when he goes pro. Cardale was probably a 3rd or 4th round pick last year based on 3 games. If he does not start, he might slide a bit but scouts and teams love potential and he's loaded with it.

15 QB Cardale / ATH Braxton (largely an h-back), with JT / Gibson as the guys in garbage time.
16 QB Barrett / ATH Gibson/Wallace
17 QB Barrett / ATH Gibson/Wallace
18 QB ?? (Gibson, Wallace, Burrow, Clark) / ATH (loser of competitions to start at QB / WR )

It's conceivable for Barrett to head to the draft after 2016 but chances are that is a bit of a rebuilding year with Elliott*, Smith, Decker, Farris, Bosa*, Washington, Schutt, Hale, Perry, Bell* gone and a threat of losing Thomas, Apple, Lee, Marshall, Price, Elflein (in order, thomas being the most likely).

Probably right on all accounts. I'm speculating a lot and giving draft estimates based upon a great year. JT could be second rounder but with the importance of a QB in today's nfl and how many teams don't have one he could go as the 3rd-4th qb off the board in the mid 1st and be a mid level NFL starter. He's got the head to make up for his arm weakness. Though I've seen some hilights where he threw the ball 45-50 yards on the money without looking like he was pushing. With a offense like the pats that rarely require those big throws he could excel. Braxton with a good season at pivot and no injuries could be a late 1st rounder as well. Cardale with a great season could go no 1 overall.

The only thing I disagree with is Barrett being here in '17, provided he lights it up in '16 like he did last year. He'll have spent four years in college and have had two All-American type seasons (again, if he kills it in '16). His draft stock will be high enough for him to leave "early"...

I would certainly be ready to leave if I were him, especially given how he gained and then possibly lost his job while playing well. He is simply a different type of kid than most and would consider coming back. Combine that with some lingering flaws in his draft stock and I can see him coming back.
I actually think Cardale should/will start this year but I think you're selling short JT's potential to improve as an NFL prospect due to his work ethic.
No amount of work is going to fix his arm strength, which will always place a ceiling on his draft stock. He also needs to improve a lot as a passer if he's going to be considered as a distributor despite those limitations. The latter is certainly a possibility.
