I can't imagine that Zwick would have made that much of a difference...he probably would have completed more passes, and maybe hit an open receiver or 2, but he also would have been sacked more, and gotten less yards running the ball, which at times was all we had.

The turnovers (and their lack thereof) cost us the game...nothing else, really, in my mind anyway. As well as the D played, they didn't get one, and though SMith took care of the ball a lot, the INT was a killer. The last fumble was a blind DE blow-up job...can't blame him for that one.

when a quarterback stands in the pocket for that long, he can definitely be blamed. it's only a matter of time before a defensive player makes his way to the quarterback. granted, our offensive linemen and blockers did a poor job tonight, but that play was far from their fault.

Here we go...pinning our hopes on the latest recruit to solve our problems.

No...this game doesn't make "more excited" about c. wells...I want to win with the players we have now...I want Haw and M. Wells to realize their full potential.

The DE came from Smith's front side, not blindside. I'm no QB, but you should be able to see that coming.

nothing against pittman, but doesn't this game make you all the more excited about getting chris wells for next year? he sounds like instant offense. osu needs instant offense.

Just like Holmes, Gonzo, Ginn, and Mo Wells, etc. are instant offense?

It was obvious what Penn State's ballyhooed freshmen did tonight too...not much. They made a couple of tough catches and a decent play or 2, but otherwise, it was obvious that freshmen weren't going to win that game, no matter who they were.

And to respond to earlier, I didn't think he was in the pocket that long on the last fumble, but I could be wrong. Either way, someone should have gotten a hand on him, anyway.

as do i want our current players to play at their fullest, but it's going to take a drastic turnaround for that to happen. as good as wells and pittman may be, they are not yet offensive dynamos. i don't know if chris wells will be, but i'd be surprised if he won't.

we have seen two quarterbacks, neither of which has made his case. tressel does not wish to put haw and wells into close games. did you watch the same game as i did today, scarlet? you better believe that i'm looking forward to getting chris wells.

mo wells is not instant offense. there's no denying that. holmes, gonzo, and ginn may be, but how are we to know if they don't get the ball? a running back can always be given the ball; therefore, a running back's contribution can be more predictable. of course, chris wells is not here yet. he may go bust. i doubt it, though. from year to year, running back recruits rated among the two best are reliably stellar as they enter their college careers.

1. Not clearly anymore...I'll still give him the nod.

2. I don't think anyone has said he's a great running back. He's solid and has the potential to be a truly great back.

3. Yep. But, you gotta get them the ball before they can cause any damage.

4. Cumulatively, the 2005 squad has as much talent overall as the 2002 team did. But, the 2005 team is not the team that the 2002 team was.

5. Yep. We have the tools to be a national champion, but we're just not executing on offense.
