Post 23 Season tOSU Coaching Changes

It is an interesting topic - remember the melt down of Mike Bellotti withdrawing his name. The top 3 candidates at that point remaining was Jon Gruden (no joke), Glen Mason (underappreciated), and Jim Tressel. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.

Leipold is a great choice.

I'd add one more - Bob Chesney (no relation to Kenny)
46 years old, from PA. Has steadily climbed the ladder since 2010 when he was hired at 33 and was a HC in D3, then D2, to FCS with Holy Cross and just got hired at JMU. Here is a section of his coaching career from Mr. Wiki:

Chesney was hired as the fourth head coach in Salve University football program history following his five-year stint as associate head coach at Johns Hopkins University.[1] Chesney rebuilt a Salve Regina program which had a streak of eight-consecutive losing seasons before his tenure, upon which he posted three winning campaigns in a row.[2] Following his success with that program, Chesney was hired as the tenth head coach in Assumption College football program history.[3] Prior to his arrival the Assumption program had posted two winning seasons in the 17 previous years. [4] Chesney led the Greyhounds to five-straight winning records and NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last three years

Allegedly, there was a country concert in Dallas.

Tickets were given to the Coaches by the Cotton bowl I’ve read. I think people are trying to make a much bigger deal out of this than they should.

I believe that Dennis and Frye should be fired but I don’t think the correlation is there like people are trying to imply.

I don't think it is a factor to the loss, but I believe it calls into question Day's leadership if there is no punishment for it. The team see's what is going on.

I've never really understood the people who don't like Dennis. The QB recruiting and play has been good until this year where things obviously went sideways.
Day needs to give up play calling. It's time. Enough is enough. They need a true QB coach and Co- OC who can coach up a QB. Fields and Stroud were generational talents. And their success has driven the recruiting.

OSU can hire the best coaching assistants out there. McCord, Brown and Kienholz have shown they have trouble with reads. That is on Dennis.

I think my issue is, the back ups seem ill equipped to play. We don’t have the full playbook when they come in and I believe Dennis is the one who is working the most with them. Day worked with McCord but I think we saw McCord max out with the QB he can be. I don’t think there was much else he could do mentally to become the QB that Day is accustomed to having.

I'd say a large part of it is due to him being viewed as a nepo hire. He also hasn't proven himself at another school and Day is heavily involved with the QB room. He's still an unknown, imo
