Without a doubt. But if you think it's because people are putting their brand new 400 dollar console on the floor, you are being fooled.Shocking - a new piece of hardware has issues (and idiots putting the system on the carpet or other places that isn't a table or TV stand)....I'm shocked. Not.
Xbone will have similar issues I'm sure.
Perfect encapsulation of how I feel. Love what Sony set out to do but I am a major Halo fan and competitive multiplayer fan. Would make the switch if a game on Sony's system could really compete with Halo's multiplayer. I have been looking at Kill Zone and the new COD but I'm just not sure. I'm geeked up about Destiny. Thinking about getting the PS4 early and maybe get COD then Destiny. Then a year from now buy into Xbox and Halo 5.You shut your mouth, boy!
All I was saying was that Sony, in a haste to release the console, didn't release good games with the PS4. It can be rectified with the release of new games that have gone through the complete development cycle and not rushed to production due to the need for release day numbers.
No reason to buy now, but still want to buy. I want Sony to win... I hate M$. I hope they spin off Xbone. I am a big Halo fan though. I am conflicted. It's complicated.
edit: PS: Don't tell BN24!

I just find it funny that some of these PS4 are bricking right out of the box.
I mean, if people are actually doing this....I've seen people take $40,000 router modules and put them on the floor and then walk into them, it's absolutely happening in some cases.
they've always done that, I have the dubious distinction of having an original Xbox AND my first PS2 brick immediately after purchase. These are just specifically-purposed computers and nothing more.

Is all I have to say...
Loyal Playstation guy here. But I have gone through 3 PS3's and now it appears a PS4. I was playing BF4 for about 30 minutes and it turned off on me and now wont turn back on. It sits on the top shelf of an open air unit meant to hide wires for my TV that's mounted over my fire place. Circulation isn't the issue (ceiling fan on and blowing on it, as it happens to be), but the console is very warm to the touch on top.
It's a shame that early adoption of technology is just assumed to have hardware and software issues. Especially for items like this where most people stand in lines for considerable time (or pre-order 6 months in advance) and spend a sizable amount of money on. Not to mention these gigantic organizations have years of preparation, R&D, and predecessors in which to analyze potential hazards.
But in their defense, it's not like computers/consoles have ever overheated before. So why would they anticipate this as a possible issue?

It will get replaced and I still have my PS3, where our NCAA league is still going on and GTA V still has my attention. With what little time I have to play anyways.Your post was quite civil for someone who's brand new PS4 appears to have [Mark May] the bed....
