Pizza Man says he's going to conduct a national search

Peterson instills curiosity in me. He could be the second coming of Bo or just another Dan Hawkins at CU. I think he fears the latter, so he aint coming.

If he fears the latter, he IS the latter. Bo wasn't scared of going to Ann Arbor, and Woody and Tress weren't scared of coming to Columbus.

Top notch recruiter? Getting kids into LSU and keeping them there, living without limits on signing is one thing, doing that in Ann Arbor is something different.

Got to believe he might consider leaving now that Saban is loose at Alabama, especially if Auburn gets away with the Cameron fiasco. Those two programs can keep anyone else from getting to the CCG and a shot at the brass ring.
Auburn will fall back to the pack once Newton leaves.

There are plenty of good coaches out there who fit the Michigan profile and who would love to coach in Ann Arbor. None of them instill fear in me as a Buckeye fan, but all would be a quantum improvement over the overrated blowhard who has been up there the past 3 years.

Dan Mullen, Gary Patterson, Skip Holtz, Bo Pelini, Mike Stoops, Jim Grobe, Chip Kelly, Les Miles. I bet Michigan could get one of these guys to take the job, which remains one of the most prestigious in college football. Honestly, if I were Brandon, I might pursue Grobe.

You may be right. Grobe would know how to use the offensive personnel currently in AA.

Is the rumor control officer on deck?

Can't cite a source, but isn't there some connection between Les Miles, the Excalibre Restaurant and Gary Moeller? I've heard that it's the reason why Les didn't answer the call when RR was hired.

Les has a number of skeletons in his michigan closet, which is why he was never offered despite an avalanche of support and pressure from boosters, alumni and the search committee.

And losing Gus Malzahn will also hurt. I can't believe he isn't being mentioned more prominently for the jobs at Pitt, UConn, and TSUN. He'd keep Shoelace at QB, but they'd have to get over the no-head-coaching experience thing.

I'd love for Les to get the job...I think recruiting would be better than Rodriguez, but it'd still fall short of where they were under Carr. He benefits a ridiculous amount by having such a large base in Louisiana, it covers up his recruiting flaws.

Put him in Ann Arbor with a mediocre talent base and ask him to recruit nationally...I just don't see it.

One of the biggest obstacles Michigan faces right now is getting the talent level back up. It's hard when you can't fill a recruiting class with 20 kids from Michigan. I can see Michigan continuing to struggle for the forseeable future regardless of the hire.....unless that hire is Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh scares me.
