Saw those names mentioned on Spartan Tailgate...

Are we gonna get a vbet on their next coach?

I'd definitely take the field on that one...

I'd love for Les to get the job...I think recruiting would be better than Rodriguez, but it'd still fall short of where they were under Carr. He benefits a ridiculous amount by having such a large base in Louisiana, it covers up his recruiting flaws.

Put him in Ann Arbor with a mediocre talent base and ask him to recruit nationally...I just don't see it.

One of the biggest obstacles Michigan faces right now is getting the talent level back up. It's hard when you can't fill a recruiting class with 20 kids from Michigan. I can see Michigan continuing to struggle for the forseeable future regardless of the hire.....unless that hire is Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh scares me.

You think Les can recruit well when he's only allowed 25 a year??

Well kind of, overall he was 4-11. The coached at Youngstown State 15 years and ONLY won 4 Division 1-AA National Championships.

:slappy:

Awesome.

Nebraska's Pelini mentioned in search for new Michigan coach

By RYAN AUTULLO
BLADE SPORTS WRITER
ANN ARBOR --- A new name has surfaced in the Michigan head coaching search.

Someone with knowledge of the situation believes Nebraska coach Bo Pelini will likely entertain the thought of coaching the Wolverines should school athletic director Dave Brandon approach him. The person was unsure as of Thursday evening whether Brandon and Pelini had spoken.

The coaching search would likely be over had Stanford's Jim Harbaugh agreed to accept the job at Michigan. Harbaugh is reportedly being offered $7.5 million from Miami Dolphins owner and Michigan alumnus Stephen Ross. Michigan won't match that price tag.

Pelini is a former Ohio State player, a factor that could both hurt --- for obvious reasons --- and help his chances for landing the Michigan job. Brandon said Wednesday he'd like to hire a proven head coach with full ?knowledge? of what the Michigan job entails. Pelini, of Youngstown, Ohio, is well versed in Michigan football, only from a slightly different perspective.

Said it earlier. Fitz ain't going nowhere. He wouldn't interview with nd last year, and he gave um the high hat this year. He plans on being the joepa of evanston.

I've been driving all day from Colorado to Ohio, so listened to a lot of Sirius/XM sports talk radio and the Les Miles thing is getting a lot of lip service. If he pulls this off, I move we nominate the pizza man for immediate canonization. :slappy:

Is Harbaugh still in the mix? He just turned down 40 million to Miami.
He didn't "turn them down"...Miami supposedly pulled their offer after the rash of shit they caught for the way they were going about this. Funny how it's a "m*ch*g*n man" there bumbling that too. Looks like he'll likely end up in SF or Denver.
