I don't know about cheating, but there I thought there were definitely a few questionable calls. Well, okay... awful. Luckily Pitt stepped up and did what they had to do, and didn't let the game rest on the refereeing. Always best if a team makes the most of the factors they control to outweigh the ones they can't.

You don't think the BIG EAST officials might have believed they had a better shot at keeping their jobs, if they nudge their best team over that national championship goal line on 4th and 1? Both phantom holding calls seemed to occur after the virtual sealing TD's and 1st downs were inevitable. The unsportsmanlike call was just a desparate attempt to keep West Virginia in the game. Who doesn't show that level of jubilation at the culmination of a victory? It was an obvious fix, be it conspiratorial, or silently understood.

I agree. Inexcusable.

Yes, well... I don't like to complain about refereeing... or to assume bad intentions... but I do think it would make for a most interesting review.

This was one crazy game... I thought the refs were awful, hated some of the calls.. let the players play. Sucks for West Va, can't even imagine how their fans feel. But Pitt must be on cloud 9

Not only did this game make their year, but it probably will springboard the program back to respectability at the very least....

Could be - and with Nix coming in... maybe a few more solid recruits in the next 2 months like Baldwin or even Gardiner... this team could keep getting better

I'm hearing a lot of people in the media shocked by the results of this game. Pat Forde is even saying this might be a bigger upset than App. State Michigan, given what's at stake here. Using the exact same logic, it's easy to see why this game isn't really that big of an upset. The numbers speak for themselves. Steve Slaton, 9 rushes for 11 yards. WV overall, 12 1st downs for 182 yards the entire game. 3 lost fumbles. I'm sorry but if you put up these kinds of numbers with everything on the line, it's not an upset, it's called getting your ass kicked and getting exposed. Slaton's a nice player, but come on, OSU never even give him a look. And if you put a RB or WR at the QB position, I'm sure he will get just as many yards rushing as Pat White does. And what's up with leaving the game with a jammed finger, and having to be hand held off the field like a freakin four year old? WVU is and has always been a huge fraud and they were clearly outclassed by, out of all teams, Pitt....
