6 blocks for Hunter last night.....I felt he played well inside and the game last night may have been his best defensive game yet.
Agree... he had his own personal block party with Hansbrough being the guest of honor. He did a great job on the glass also.

Just wish that some of that consistency can be on the offensive end.

I agree with this as well...He has skill to be a scorer on the offensive end, just seems that he does not make himself available at times, and at other times he is out of position in terms of getting offensive rebounds...This can be said for all of our big guys...

Hunter has worked extensively on his offensive game, he just needs to force them to get him the ball at the high post or on the block so he can use that game...

Hunter played like a grown man yesterday. I'd love to see some commentary from knowledgable NBA types as to whether he might be drafted. His size, athleticism, and growing skill set would seem to me to be useful to most any team. His jump shot is developing nicely, too -- pretty good for a 6-9 power forward with his kind of hops.

I was thinking during the game yesterday that he is playing his way into the first round. Very talented athletic big man who can play D, along with a fast-developing offensive game. Very high-potential.

No way he gets into the first round...Not a put down on O in anyway...I do think he will get drafted in the second somewhere, but I just don't see first round nba material in anyway...

ya, he seems like a bit of a tweener for the next level. He's developing a decent jump shot, but not that consistent. He's 6'8 and pretty slender so he isn't really going to bang at the next level.

He seems to have a center type game, but in a smallish power forward type body for the league. It'd be nice to see him catch on somewhere though. It's apparent he hasn't hit his ceiling and still has tons of development room left. Some forget he didn't start playing hoops until later in his high school career. Very impressive.

OHIO STATE MEN'S BASKETBALL Hunter
Ohio State Buckeyes men's basketball player Othello Hunter plays like a monster and a mouse

Columbus- Ohio State's Othello Hunter is averaging 9.5 points and 6.7 rebounds a game, except the senior power forward is rarely average.

On the nights when he steps on the court nervous and tense and thinks to himself, "Oh man, come on, please," he's apt to fade into the background, his sinewy 6-8 frame obliterated by the Big Ten's bigger bodies, his contributions minimized by the grind.

On the nights when he stumbles across the right rap song in his pregame music and hits the hardwood thinking "All right, let's go," he can play above the rim as well as anyone in the conference, a quick leaper who crashes the glass and serves as the perfect finisher for point guard Jamar Butler's lobs.
