PF Jared Sullinger (2x 1st Team ALL B1G & All American, Anyang KGC, S.Korea)

Obviously, I don't watch much of buckeye bball.......but they kept talking about the 25 pounds that Sullinger lost during the off season. Is there a story behind that? Did he have an illness or anything, or was it just a decision to lose weight to make him faster?

Just wondering.

Dedicated himself in the offseason to become quicker and more athletic while adding a face-up game to his post moves.

Sully needs to play an entire game like he did after he threw that monster dunk down in transition. A pissed Sully is damn near unstoppable.

I've noticed we need Sullinger in the paint on offense and Williams in the paint on defense. (Although Sullinger did have a nice block yesterday)

Right on, Coqui... I have been thinking lately that Amir has shown he can block without fouling, and I also belive that he is long enough and quick enough to cover a lot of area down low.

I think when the Bucks are playing a good three point shooting team, it would be smart to have Amir down low so that the other four can really press the perimeter players. If the perimiter players get by our defenders, they are confronted with Amir on the help. Remember how Lauderdale was there for the last few years?? I miss that. I hate to think of Jared back there helping because he will body them and get the cheap fouls called.

Just sayin' hope we see more Amir playing with Sully.

I will keep my comment brief because your post really doesn't need a long answer. The main problem with your idea is who is Sully going to guard on the perimeter and who are you going to put on the bench while Williams is playing... Buford or Smith or maybe even Thomas. Pretty good idea you have there.

Big 10 Co-Player of the Week

Ohio State's Jared Sullinger today was named the Big Ten's co-player of the week in men's basketball, the conference announced. Sullinger shares the award with John Shurna of Northwestern.

Sullinger had 24 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in OSU's 58-52 victory at Wisconsin on Saturday. The performance was his 10th double-double of the season and 28th of his career.

This is the second time this season that Sullinger has received the award and the sixth time in his career.

Yo LitlBuck, pull up the video from Saturday's (Wisconsin) game. Some ugly sequences of Ravenel in there with Sullinger. Now maybe the thought is they're on the road, and Matta thinks Amir or JD would get nervous in front of the hostile crowd.
But I would much rather see Amir paired up with Sully than Ravenel. There is talk of Purdue trying to pull Sullinger out of the paint (if he is covering Robbie what's his name)... call it an experiment but I would like to see Amir get some time early tonight.

Coach seems to substitue a little more freely at home than on the road; and Purdue isn't the competition Wisky is most nights.

By the way, I like Sullinger's interview saying we will get the best Purdue performance, not the same purdon't we see on "tape". Whether he believes it or not, that's the right attitude to take.

Won't quibble with you anymore regarding this topic except for the fact that you will not see Sully and Williams on the court together except maybe for a few seconds.:)

I also doubt if you will see Hummel guarding him tonight. Last Saturday was a little bit better matchup for Robbie. If Painter tries that tonight, Sullinger might score 40-50.
