That is the question Ohio State coach Thad Matta has been getting far too often in recent weeks as one injury after another has forced Jared Sullinger off the court.
On Saturday, it was one to his left foot that prompted Sullinger to sit for the final 30 minutes of the Buckeyes? victory at South Carolina and left his status for a game tonight against Lamar in question.
So, yesterday, Matta got the question again. Will Sullinger play tonight?
?Yes, he?s going to play,? Matta said.
Later, though, Matta disclosed that the injury was not a bone bruise, as first diagnosed, but a sprained tendon on the outside of the foot. He also said Sullinger did not practice on Sunday and was not sure he would yesterday.
?I?m just saying he?s playing, and if he doesn?t, he doesn?t,? Matta said. ?I?m kind of beat up by trying to figure out everything, so the heck with it. We?ll play with who we?ve got when (the game) gets here.?
With the start of the Big Ten season looming in eight days, Matta is understandably concerned with the amount of time Sullinger has missed recently. He has played 31 minutes since No.2 Ohio State drilled No. 3 Duke by 22 points on Nov. 29.
?We were playing at a very, very high level,? Matta said. ?At some point, we?ve got to get this team back flowing, back playing, and all our ducks in a row.?
What Sullinger?s absence has done, though, is give freshman Amir Williams a chance to develop faster, perhaps, than if Sullinger had been logging his customary floor time and junior Evan Ravenel getting the first call to spell him.

The Buckeyes' All-American center missed six of his nine field goal attempts, and three of his six misses were blocked by by the Redhawks' Julian Mavunga (two) and Drew McGhee.
Ohio State coach Thad Matta said it was indicative of how far out of game shape Sullinger has fallen the past three weeks while being in and out of the lineup with a pair of injuries.
"We?ve got to get Jared in shape. We?ve got to get Jared back to who Jared is," Matta said after the game. I don?t think he?s anywhere near where he was or where he?s going to be here hopefully in a week or so."
Matta said the back-and-forth running the length of the court, and having to defend for the length of the 35-second shot clock, "is weighing on (Sullinger) a little bit. He'll be the first to tell you he's not where he needs to be."
Sullinger sat out the last 13:38 of the game. Matta said he considered putting him back in "just to get him more reps," but he did not. Sullinger finished with 11 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes.
"Anytime you take time off like he did, you're definitely going to be a little out of shape, especially as big as he is," guard Aaron Craft said.

?Just the running five straight trips up and down (the court), defending for 35 seconds, that sort of thing, is weighing on him a little bit,? Matta said after sitting Sullinger for the last 13:38 against Miami.
?We?ve got to get our flow back and get him rolling again. I don?t think he?s anywhere near where he was or where he?s going to be here hopefully in a week or so.?
Healthy for the first seven games, Sullinger averaged 19.1 points and 10.3 rebounds and shot 62.2 percent from the field. In the games he has played since, those numbers are 11, 7.3 and 50.

He has to for the next level, he's just not long enough or athletic enough to be a major force in the NBA at this time.
I know he missed some time, but I also think he has added some lbs. since the season started.
Best thing for JS is to come back next year and the year after.
