As far as what basketball I've watched this season: I'm a Suns season ticket holder and watch roughly 25 games a season live. The fundamentals of basketball are a thing of the past. The teams who are the most athletic win the majority of games when in the past teams with less athleticism and more teamwork could go very far. The Spurs are more of a team than any other in the league with just the right playmakers at positions. I would say the Suns are maybe the most athletic team in the NBA (maybe the Celtics) but they falter when the shots arent falling because they lose their team cohesiveness. They cannot beat the Spurs because 5 individuals cannot beat 1 unit. Overall, the NBA as a product, sucks.
I have never read so much crap in one paragraph.
If you observe sports in general and especially basketball, teams with teamwork and fundamentals win the championships.
NBA as a product doesn?t suck especially this year where all the games have been so competitive and upredictable.
The thing with the NBA games as well as the season (including playoffs ) is that both are a marathon.
You might have an athletic team dominating in the first half (guess which team is that?? SUNS) and a team with brains, defensive and offensive fundamentals as well as strategy winning at the end.
In basketball this will always happen because the game requires brains, fundamentals, strategy and most of all a good coach!
Athleticism can only get you up to a certain point not a championship.
Suns are only in the playoffs because there is a good playmaker in the team with brains and fundamentals. If an athletic only point guard was there they wouldnt even make the playoffs this year.
Regarding Kostas, who clearly has good fundamentals for his size, I believe that if he improves his footwork and strenght he can surely make it in the NBA, maybe not as a rookie but in a couple of years. Not to mention that a lot will depend in which team he goes. He surely will improve a lot in the NBA much more than he will improve if he stayed in college or if he came to Greece.
So as I see it he will do his best in the camps to get up in the ranks if gets a decent spot I see him going for the NBA. I just hope he comes over and plays for Greece in the summer (and helps us beat TEAM USA again...) : )
PS: You are a season ticket holder and only went to 25 games...thats a waste.... : )
