After the NIT, I think he's more athletic than Okur. He needs to develop his outside shot to be considered as good of a shooter.
Right now, I kind of think of him as a real poor mans Dirk Nowitski(way over-used comparison). Dirk has a much better handle and outside shot, but I think Kosta has the same body type and athleticism around the hoop. It will be interesting to see how whoever drafts him utilizes his game.

this is what is interesting, what kind of sets did matta run a lot of? the double reserving high ball screen. you see that a lot in the nba. im a firm believer that thad did it to help kosta and greg. dont get me wrong they are great sets and they work, but i firmly believe part of the reasoning was to help these kids at the next level. also interesting that weve heard people say that both guys didnt like it...crazybuckfan40;1151876; said:Yeah I see a little bit of both of them...
As for a team using his game...If he gets in the wrong system he could be sitting at the end of the bench...His game doesn't translate that well to like a run and gun type game, or a drive and kick type offense...But it translate well to a pick n roll or pick n pop much like you see the Spurs run with Duncan or the Jazz run with Williams and Okur or Boozer...
ive said for a long time right now its his 6/8 to 16/18 foot game that seperates the kid. hes not all that great on the block and not all that great out much farther than that. his ability to create mismatches at that range is kostas biggest strength at this point. ive said this for a long time.BengalsAndBucks;1151877; said:Everyone touted Kosta's outside shooting coming in, and to be honest I still don't see it. His 3 point shot isnt that good, its pretty flat and he only shot it at a 35% clip. I don't think he has Dirk's athleticism or handle on the ball.
But I tell you what, I don't know if I have seen anyone with a prettier 14 foot baseline jumper in a long long time. He made himself a ton of money in the NIT showing off that shot.
i think its predicitable, its just that with 1 or 2 picks its hard to build through the draft. thats why you see reaches and interesting things. you also have so much turnover in the nba, especially in a year like this. i wouldnt be suprised to see a couple of teams and good ones totally blown apart by management this year.OSUBasketballJunkie;1152195; said:It would not suprise me at all to see him this high.....the NBA draft is unpredictable to say the least.

Koufos leaving won't impact OSU academically in '08
Kosta Koufos' departure will not cost Ohio State a men's basketball scholarship, at least in the short term.
In fact, Greg Oden's early exit last year won't result in a lost scholarship, either, according to Ohio State faculty athletics representative John Bruno.
Bruno said today that the NCAA has approved Ohio State's academic improvement plan for basketball and informed the school it is likely to escape penalty for a deficient Academic Progress Rate score.
