does all of Ohio play without a shot clock? When I was growing up in Hudson I believe they did...when I played in Rhode Island they did as well...rules were exactly same as college ball....how can High School level ball not have a shot clock? Thats ridiculous....I know I watched a big-time Prep-League game a few years ago without a shot clock and watched a team run out thelast 4 minutes of the 4 quarter..embarrassing all HS leagues don't implement a shot c ock

From what I understand, there is no shot clock because teams of less talent may have a hard time getting together a good possesion and shot before the shot clock runs out. Unfortunately this means that, teams who do have talent, are able to hold the ball with no penalty. (Or at least thats my understanding for why theres no shot clock in high school.)

I always assumed it was a $$$ thing. One less official to pay, much less investment in equipment.

Plenty goes GlenOak?s way with the 7-foot-2 Koufos on the floor. The senior showed yet again why he is headed to Ohio State. He had 33 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks for his third triple-double.

After a rough start, GlenOak the team to beat
Monday, February 26, 2007
By CHRIS BEAVEN

A month into the boys basketball season, the GlenOak Golden Eagles did not look too special.

Sure, they had Stark County's best player - 7-foot-2 Kosta Koufos. But with a 3-3 record and a relatively inexperienced team, not many knew what to make of GlenOak.

The Eagles themselves, though, seemed to know something.

Fourteen wins later, an interesting mix of youth and experience with one superstar has come together to make GlenOak a force entering the tournament. The Eagles are the favorite in the Division I sectional-district at Canton Memorial Civic Center
