Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Yeah they're saying we're up to bounce pass #3.

I don't know what #3 is. I know #1 was to Ben Hartsock. I've tried finding it and the only one I found was a short pass to Hartsock on the go-ahead drive. The pass is low, but with 2003 standard definition, I don't see definitive evidence that it hits the ground. To be fair, I don't really need to dissect the video. It's like TTUN fans whining about the missed field goal in 1974 - the only video I've ever seen makes it impossible to see. I have to rely on the call on the field and the countless people sitting behind the goalposts (several of whom are regulars here - cheers to you guys). The bounce pass was obvious to everyone, according to the cult, and the referees were either corrupt or terrible.

#2 must be the 2014 interception. Beautiful. 2014 also had the field goal attempt 12 seconds after the playclock hit 00 seconds. Maybe they aren't up to 12 seconds, but each time they whine about it, it seems to increase. They have a point with it, but I think we've all seen evidence of this happening and not being called.

The snap infraction they're complaining about was at the end of the first quarter this year. It took me a long time to find it. Then I found it and the announcers (of course, to them, Herbie is a Buckeye homer and has direct communication with the referees, so that might be part of them) all agreed that it was called a penalty correctly. Some (not all) also whine about the scoop n' score by Cage - they think Clifford's arm was moving forward and it should have been an incomplete pass. They also whine about the penalty for late hit on... was it Wilson? The one that I thought was textbook "targeting" was called a late hit. They think that should have been no penalty. I think I saw one guy on BWI complain about the fumble by Henderson that was a scoop n' score the other way. Yeah - the low screen pass that Henderson reached out and tapped with one hand... the ball bounced twice and their guy picked it up and ran for a touchdown. The officials said the ruling on the field was an incomplete pass. A couple of guys thought that was wrong. I have to believe those guys are trolls, though. Personally, I think it should have been delay of game on the defense. Or at least make Penn State call a time out for that.

It'd be fun to come up with a list of all the games Penn State thinks they got robbed. Since joining the Big Ten, Ohio State is 41.5 wins ahead of Penn State in the win column (ties count as a half win). Can we "correct" those Penn State losses and get them to pass Ohio State? I bet we could.

......though I remember that being from a game where we kicked the shit out of them.

You're missing the point entirely. That one bad call obviously changed the trajectory of the entire game. Everything the followed was tainted because it was achieved on false pretense..... or something.... FAX!!!! Evidents!! The emotional damage inflicted by the officials completely took the Nits out of their game and damn near ruined their weekend. (And I think we all know how serious they take that shit.)

So the snap infraction gripe is a typical Penn State fan gripe.

1. The call was correct.
2. They "recovered" the ball after the whistles blew and all of our players stopped.

What a normal person sees: illegal snap + one team not diving for a ball because they heard multiple whistles
What a Penn State fan sees: CROOKED REFS REVERSE A SCOOP AND SCORE FOR PENN STATE THAT WAS WORTH 85 POINTS!!!!!!!

That's pretty simple. Just look at their record, and list all of the "L's"

Exactly, They are never beaten by a better team. It's always the officials, or the B1G, or the other team played dirty, or the weather put them at a disadvantage, or someone intentionally hurt one of their players, or blah, blah, blah. Between them and Harbaugh at ttun, I'm not sure who makes more excuses.....

Fair enough. I withdraw my busy work activity request.

So this #53 guy was standing on the sidelines, and Tagovailoa ran out of bounds. #53 (Hansard, I guess), pushed him down. I guess he apologized yesterday afternoon. It gets posted on BWI. Oh yeah - you need a sign-in to see that, I forgot. Anyway, the second response after the initial poster is this:

Ha. And 4 people gave him the "thumbs up".

And now on to what the old BWI thinks of this.

https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threa...izes-to-maryland-qb-taulia-tagovailoa.309778/

When it happened and I saw the replay, it seemed that Tagvailoa took a few too many unnecessary steps into the PSU sideline (i.e. could have stopped and not gotten into the players area), but none the less it would have been more sportsmanlike to just catch him and hold him up.

The players area is only 2 yards back there. You think he should have stopped when running full speed within 2 yards?

Looked to me like hansard was kind of shocked he was there and pushed back to protect himself.

Haha! Help! There's a football player trying to get me! He was running toward the sideline - did you think he was going to leap over you?

Did I just hear this correctly? Hansard is suspended for the first half of the Michigan game?
Yes, that's what I saw from today's CJF press conference recap.
Massive penalty on the team, who wasn’t involved
So.... because it hurts the team, you shouldn't penalize the player. Aaron Hernandez should have been allowed to keep playing for New England. The team had nothing to do with those murders. And Clarett should have been allowed to keep playing - his stupidity wasn't the team's fault. And hey - Steele Chambers shouldn't have been ejected for targeting - don't punish the whole team!

And now Hansard has been suspended for the first half against scUM this week. The current conspiracy is that the B1G forced them to do it, and post after post complaining about the play 7 years ago when Joey Bosa pulled Sackenberg's helmet off during a tackle and there was no flag.( there was no flag on Hansard either)

Found this blurb about the “victim” or whatever you want to call him in some article about the suspension:

On the season, Hansard, a redshirt senior from Burlington, N.J., has appeared in five games at defensive tackle without recording any statistics. He has 23 tackles, six tackles for loss and one sack over the course of his four-year career.
Yeah that one is really gonna hurt. Ewers has as many tackles on the season. Nice to have built in excuses before potentially losing a game.

It's childlike how they view their players. They're all saints, on and off the field. None of them can ever be legitimately injured; it always has to be the result of a cheap shot." Even the worshipful way they use the term "The Lettermen" to refer to them and the belief that, somehow, their view on a matter outweighs that of the administration, the faculty or the mass of regular alumni, is something you'd expect out of an eight year old.

Most 8 years old know that raping kids is bad though.

I'm going to stick with "sick cult" to sum them up.
