Some in the media think it is a great hire for Penn State. In looking at Penn State's roster I only see 4 guys from Florida, and all are from the Northern half (above Tampa-Orlando-Titusville) of the state. I wonder hiring Diaz might open up Southern Florida for some recruiting possibilities.

Because Diaz locked up all the south Florida 4 and 5 stars for Miami while he was there, right? Ummmmm…..never mind

And it will be even easier now to get those 4 and 5 stars by selling getting to play in a cow pasture instead of near those hot sandy beaches.
I mean, what young black athlete wouldn't jump at the opportunity to play at an institution with a history of child rape, surrounded by toothless redneck racists, in a frigid climate, in a creepy town that takes 12 hours to fly to from anywhere?

Re: Manny Diaz, who lasted 18 days as Temple's head coach before he left to take the same job at the University of Miami in 2018, has been hired as Penn State's new defensive coordinator and linebackers coach, head coach James Franklin announced Saturday.

If Diaz can somehow be patient enough to stay put until December 29, he will break his personal record for longest coaching tenure in the state of Pennsylvania.

The Nittany Lions were 5-0 but finished 7-6, including the loss to the Razorbacks. “Well, obviously a pretty obvious question and answer,” Franklin said postgame. “Not what we had hoped for."

Just sayin': Not the season for Ped State I was hoping for either. I was hoping they would go 0-12.
