Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Eh, depends on the context. As an exercise in debate and persuasive writing? No issues. Taking a stance contrary to your own can be an excellent way to help develop your critical thinking skills.

If it’s more of a “recite why the Taliban is not a terrorist org based on what I’ve taught you”, that’s a whole lot different.

Having intimate affairs with a picnic table is not deviant behavior.

Prove me wrong.

eh...maybe....the way things are phrased in the passage and then the following thread makes me believe this professor believes it....

I agree.

The kicker, however, is the institution's own history with twisting narratives to rationalize heinous behavior itself. If this were any other university, I'd say this 100%. But since it's Penn State, my first thought is that this is just the 100 level assignment to groom students into writing papers explaining why grown men taking showers with little boys is just "horseplay".

Like the part where she says “use the definitions and readings to support your opinion and not your personal feelings”? It seems to me like she’s explicitly asking them to use this an exercise to take a contrary position for this very reason. But whatever….still a fucking cult.

The readings would tell the tale - however, as 5 Star said, PEd State doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt given its history.

Exactly.

It starts with a 500 word essay defending the Taliban, then the graduate thesis is this type of horse shit:

Deranged Cult Member said:
Jerry Sandusky walked the second mile with thousands of troubled kids, a few of whom seized an offered chance to enrich themselves by betraying him. It remains to be seen whether anyone will walk the second mile with him.
