Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Anyone think they will beat MSU or scUM and throw a wrench in our strength of schedule?

I think they could if they played as well against those schools as they did tOSU, but they won't. 3 losses in a row, Franklin packing his bags for parts unknown, and not much left to play for.

If they beat both schools from up north, it essentially guarantees OSU the East so I don’t really care that much.

Win The Game, win the B1G and deal with whatever comes in terms of CFP

When Penn State plays TTUN or Sparty, one team will win each game and one team will lose each game. Other than the mythical "strength of the team at the moment we played them", it doesn't matter who wins each game.
It really comes down to whether a 1-loss Ohio State team belongs in the playoffs. Whether they beat a 1-loss, 2-loss, 3-loss TTUN, or an undefeated, 1-loss, or 2-loss Sparty doesn't affect it. Win and we're in, I think. Lose somewhere along the way, and hope for a NY6 bowl.

BWI (Not the McAndrews board, anymore, but maybe them, too) love to complain about "the time we were penalized for excessive crowd noise".
https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/crowd-noise.309302/
One of them finds a replay of the game. It's pretty early in the game - more than 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter. Of course, that was a game-changing call by the officials and probably why Penn State lost the game. Ha.
Others come in and say, "Yeah, that was a rule at one time." No one cares. It's still a made-up rule - they won't hear any other fax.

I don't know if there was a penalty called, but if I recall Ohio State was at least warned about crowd noise against Notre Dame in '95?

What a stupid rule.

Ohio State was penalized for crowd noise when there wasn't much crowd noise. I was there; I was disappointed with the lack of noise.

The whiny qb got the call by badgering the refs for it constantly.

Definitely happened. Multi-Heisman winning QB Ron Powlus whined to the refs that he couldn't call a play, so we got either warned/flagged. We overcame such a travesty to somehow win.

If I remember right, you got charged with one of your timeouts after the warning, but the next time was a 5 yard penalty

That's what was posted in that thread on either the old or the new BWI.
I remember Harbaugh whining that he couldn't call the plays in 1986. I don't remember if a penalty was called or not (either through a timeout or 5 yards). But I might be off by 2 years, in which case it wasn't Harbaugh in 1988.

About 1:24:00 in.

Powlus complains about the noise, hits a big pass to Derrick Mayes, and taunts the crowd. Three plays later he gets picked by Shawn Springs and three plays after that Terry Glenn becomes legend.
