We got a "How long does he last" bet on O' Brian set up yet? I got some v-cash looking for a place to play. Hell, this guy might not even make it to Opening Day... err Spring Practice. He did get by the presser.

I'm working my way through bwi and audibles from Friday onward at the moment.

Jesus Fucking Christ! The fucking meltdown on Friday was epic. I've never seen anything like it...not just the fucking message boards, but players threatening to contact recruits and drop lawsuits on the university.

Ha! O'Brien was in the process of being fired at the end of the season in NE. I would have worked that into the video if I'd known.

They all love their JoePa soooo much...but, if it hadn't been for Joe's obstinate refusal to retire, greedily holding on to his position far past his prime, PedState would have already replaced him before this scandal became public, and would have been able to actually attract a competent, possibly top-tier coach. If they're in hades over this coaching hire, it's their own little god they worship so much who condemned them there. Justice.

And that is by far the biggest difference between Penn & Ohio State (and just about every major University in the country).

How many times have you heard a Buckeye recruit say "Ohio State is bigger than one man", "We committed to the University not a single person" or some variant thereof?

I couldn't go too far back on the rivals boars like I could on Audibles but some of the original meltdown threads were still around. That's too bad because BWI is usually the more bat[Mark May] crazy of the two.

So, the timeline went something like this.

Friday: utter [censored]ing meltdown

Transition Period: we could have had [meyer, saban, miles, petersen, richt, muchak, gruden et al] except the board/president/joyner screwed it up.

Coalescing opinion moving forward: this was a great hire. We'll have the best offense in the B1G. McCloin will set records. Spence is going to recommit. Ohio State is really nervous about the hire.

As sickening as their tantrum was on Friday, it was probably more accurate and clear sighted. Now, the cult's echo chamber is slowly polishing this turd into a diamond.

LOL. You hired a guy who has never won anything, was in the process of being fired by his current employer and is most famous for throwing a tantrum on the sideline towards a HOF player whose shoes he should have been polishing. Double bonus is that Barney Rubble seems like a real easy to hate prick.

Agreed. One only has to go back through the "I stand by" and "I don't stand by" threads and, regardless of what side of the issue one was on, see the difference between their fanbase and ours.

To be sure, this is a most unusual and well moderated and populated board. There are other Buckeye sites far less sane.

(not disagreeing with the main premise of the statement - just that BP to any of theirs is not all apples to apples in different ways)

Every college fan base has a percentage of idiots its just PSU has a ratio of 90/10 and most everyone else is 10/90
