Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

McGloin's not a pro QB, but it's not because of his height or his arm strength. If he had Brees' accuracy, intelligence, and demeanor no one would question his arm strength.

No shit? That's all he's missing?

Well thank god he has the 6ft+ and strong arm thing down because those are the the really hard qualities to find in a QB.

To wit:

Jamarcus Russell is not a pro QB, but it's not because of his height or his arm strength. If he had Brees' accuracy, intelligence, and demeanor no one would question his arm strength.

"There's no way I can stand up in front of our football team and talk about loyalty and commitment and then leave the Patriots at the start of a playoff run," O'Brien said at his introductory news conference at Penn State. "I have committed to the New England Patriots to see them through this playoff run. There's not going to be a lot of sleep over the next two-to-three weeks. Any break I have, to make sure I have as much time as I can for Penn State."

Let's hope the Patriots make it to the SuperBowl so he has no time to hire a staff and recruit anyone for Penn State before 1 Feb 2012 (i.e. NLI Signing Day).

It sure seems to me that a lot of tosu fans are getting nervous after this hire. Every hopeful thread about potential recruits is being overrun with these people. Hmmmmmm

RE: All you need to know about this hire...

OSU, NC coach and probation

PSU, NFL coach and no probation

I would probably be nervous as a OSU fan also.

The new recruits choices are go play for OSU and no bowl games

or

come play for PSU along with a coach who has ties to the NFL, can get the players ready for the next level and no bowl restrictions.

Wow. I've always thought Ped Aggy fans were a little off their rocker, but these last six weeks have sent them rocketing right off the ledge.

I was concerned that the level insanity would drop once the reality of their hire set in. Thankfully, it just seems to have made them even more batshit crazy. I visit more than my share of message boards from around the country, and I can say with absolute certainty that none of them even come close to how nutty Ped Aggy fans are. They are certifiable. The meltdown threads next season are going to be spectacular.

PSU, first year coach with absolutely no track record as a head coach and no probation

I would have no reason tobe nervous as a OSU fan also.

The new recruits choices are go play for OSU and no bowl game in their freshman year

or

come play for PSU along with a coach who has ties to the NFL, with a coach who has not proven that he can get the players ready for the next level and no bowl restrictions AT THIS POINT IN TIME and be constantly reminded that I am playing for a program that covered up a serial child rapist.

As a matter of fact as far as being in trouble with the NCAA, I'm willing to bet OSU will be slapped with a few more sanctions within the next few years.

PSU will have the scandal over there head, but we will not be sanctioned by the NCAA.

Honestly, I used to just think BN27 was so angry because some PSU fans ran a train over his prom date.

Holy fuck was that guy right.

Yeah, but that doesn't disprove your scenario about his prom date.
