With all of this tomfoolery going on, we've lost sight of one very important thing...doesn anybody know if The Rail? is safe? :(

If ever there was a time for six dudes in a Columbus frat house to suddenly shout out in unison "Hey! We have a truck........ROADTRIP!!".

Gorman: Following a legend is the easy part

Where Joe Paterno was the most recognizable face in college football, a name synonymous with Penn State, Bill O'Brien went from virtually anonymous to new Nittany Lions coach.

That always was thought to be the hardest part of replacing Paterno, following a legend. Of course, that was before the sordid child sex-abuse scandal and subsequent coaching search turned Penn State into a punch line.

When word spread from State College to San Antonio of Penn State hiring O'Brien, high school stars at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl were asked for their reactions and gave a collective response that reverberates nationally.

"Nobody really knows who he is," Scout.com recruiting analyst Bob Lichtenfels said. "These kids are going to make decisions that will affect the rest of their lives. How are you going to pick a guy you barely know?"

.../cont/...

But the real reason I posted the article is this...

.../snip/...

Penn State dragged this out into a two-month search to find the successor for the 85-year-old Paterno, acting like amateurs in the process. They allowed top target Meyer to go to Big Ten rival Ohio State, while others treated their candidacy as toxic or used it to leverage long-term deals at their schools.

.../snip/...

That's right folks...Penn State ALLOWED Ohio State to hire Urban Myer.

These people are CRAZY, Muck. Certifiable, spreading [Mark May] on the walls, CRAZY.

A quick perusal through the audibles wasteland, and you'll learn that: a) He is responsible for Tom Brady being the QB he is, b) He's going to wow recruits with his SB rings (disregard the fact he has none), c) He is the architect behind the Pats offense.

Was there anybody on the AA Bowl roster who was a PSU commit to begin with?
