Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

To be sure, this is a most unusual and well moderated and populated board. There are other Buckeye sites far less sane.

(not disagreeing with the main premise of the statement - just that BP to any of theirs is not all apples to apples in different ways)

In addition to this exceptionally wise point. I have noticed, watching the meltdown since it began (Forgive me, I didn't read Ped State boards prior to that, why would I give a fuck?) this use of the concept of "fanbase" to sort of charecterize - maybe categorize- themselves is kind of fucked up to me. Generally, when one brings up the concept of "fanbase" its usually to talk about Notre Dame and the subway alums, the scUM Walmart crowd, the Cryami... well whatever that psuedothugdom is.

Point is... it never ends well. I mean, fanbase characterization. Yet, they seem (like the Cryami freaks) to revel in it. Its fucked up.

do these idiots realize that Illinois just hired a better coach than them? Freaking Illinois! I am more worried about them than Penn State right now.

Isn't Illinois the second cross-over divisional game that is protected every year?

scUM is our only protected cross-division game. Illinois is in our division, however, so we still play them every year.

gotcha...brain fart. as you can see, the legends and leaders moniker is great for remembering who is in what division. If I can't remember and i am on a college football message board all day, how is joe blow out in kansas going to rememer?

One division is M--, N--, Iowa. The other division is everyone else.

I like to pretend the division names don't exist.

This.

And to make it even easier, if you don't choke on the phrase, think "Legendary Iowa Hawkeyes". That single phrase along with the Ms and Ns makes everything - including division names - fall into place.

I think I need the Heimlich.

Leave it to Ped State to send a mixed message by going outside for a head coach but retaining Johnson. Probably speaks to their unwillingness to start from scratch. $$$$$

I dont understand how the Ped State Admin could keep Coach Vandy, and Coach LJ who have more than 27 combined years at the school. Theyre making a huge assumption that these guys didnt know ANYTHING....
