Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

1994 - one of the best topics to read about on BWI.

https://bwi.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=36&tid=172982086&mid=172982086&sid=890&style=2

I haven't started reading about it, but what is the over/under for number of replies before any of these terms comes up:
"cheated by the polls"
"Big Ten screwed us"
"Ohio writers screwed us"
"greatest team ever"
"63-14"
"The REAL national champions"
I'm sure I'm missing some gems. I'll post them as I see them.

Only 6 or 7 replies so far, and all of those have pretty much been covered!

Visited my daughter in Chicago this weekend, saw this. Seems to be a strange Indianer/Paterno connection. I have my best people on it.

These fools have been in the B1G going on 23 years now. They have been relevent on the national stage in 5, maybe 6 of those years...
- 1994
- 1996: climbed to #3 in early October before losses to tOSU and Iowa knocked them from the national discussion.
- 1997: were #1 for a good part of the season thru early November, then lost to scUM (big surprise), and dropped their last two to finish 9-3
- 1999: started 9-0 with some nice wins before dropping their last three. Of course, this was the season that was capped by blanking aTm in the Alamo Bowl for tickle monster's big send off.

2000-2004 terrible.

- 2005**: Surprise team that went 11-1 including an Orange Bowl win over senile Bobby Bowden
- 2008/09**: Back to back 11-2 seasons that saw them hang around in the top-10 for much of those years, but never viewed as serious NC contenders.

** of course, those three seasons have been wiped from the record books.

Go back to 87, the first year after dear leader's last NC, and they were exceptionally mediocre for the 6 years leading up to them joining the B1G-- 48-23-1, or roughly 8-4 per season.

Their over-inflated sense of self-worth is awesome.

well they're factoring in all the bullshit calls that went against them keeping them from perfect seasons. all you're doing is looking at their records and seeing the losses.

Well, this explains it all......

To show how much PSU mo has become an issue, I was visiting my brother who consults to OSU, and he tells me that the Barajas decommitt was considered HUGE by OSU!!! Why??? - Because it showed the JF train isnt all that great after all. Get that - Urban is concerned about PSU who is under sanctions, has limited scholie players and he has trounced two years in a row. My brother tells be that UM hardly mentions Sparty - you know the team that owned his arse in the BIG game.

I love how they think a random fan's actions are aligned with Urban Meyer. They pulled this a while ago when some fan posted on their boards making fun of something I don't even remember....that just showed that Ohio State and Urban Meyer are scared of Penn State. PROOF! EVIDENTS!

I know a really stupid person who made a broad statement about an institution consisting of thousands of people that the stupid person is slightly associated with; this same stupid person also made a broad statement about a fan base consisting of hundreds of thousands of people that he has no interaction with. This PROVES that Urban Meyer is SCARED of James Franklin and Penn State!
