These fools have been in the B1G going on 23 years now. They have been relevent on the national stage in 5, maybe 6 of those years...
- 1994
- 1996: climbed to #3 in early October before losses to tOSU and Iowa knocked them from the national discussion.
- 1997: were #1 for a good part of the season thru early November, then lost to scUM (big surprise), and dropped their last two to finish 9-3
- 1999: started 9-0 with some nice wins before dropping their last three. Of course, this was the season that was capped by blanking aTm in the Alamo Bowl for tickle monster's big send off.
2000-2004 terrible.
- 2005**: Surprise team that went 11-1 including an Orange Bowl win over senile Bobby Bowden
- 2008/09**: Back to back 11-2 seasons that saw them hang around in the top-10 for much of those years, but never viewed as serious NC contenders.
** of course, those three seasons have been wiped from the record books.
Go back to 87, the first year after dear leader's last NC, and they were exceptionally mediocre for the 6 years leading up to them joining the B1G-- 48-23-1, or roughly 8-4 per season.
Their over-inflated sense of self-worth is awesome.
