Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

So, let me see if I have this right...their new prez is the former prez of Florida State? This is the same Florida State whose football team proudly claimed accused rapist Jameis Winston, with all the attendant accusations of police mishandling and interference with the investigation?

Well, he should fit right in then.

I'm a little surprised that anyone was surprised by the correlation.

They got very, very lucky with the O'Brien hire. The odds of that happening a second time are probably extremely low.
And just the turn over of the coaching staff again will have some effect. We underestimated the O'Brien hire. I don't think that happens again. Franklin, as good as he is was never voted "Coach of the Year". Let's see how long the honeymoon lasts.

He won 9 games back-to-back years at Vandy...that's impressive no matter how you cut it. That would be the equivalent of doing that at Indiana with higher academic standards. The man can coach. The challenge he faces is that those scholarship restrictions are gonna really start to kick in over the next couple of seasons. He has the QB, but the rest of the roster is going to be really short on depth. O'Brien didn't deal with that issue. He was smart to bail when he did. USC proved you can still field a pretty decent team as long as you recruit talented players with the 'ships you have, but the lack of depth prevents you from fielding a truly "elite" kind of team.

So apparently Jay Pedterno is running for Lt. Governor in PA. Crazy Joe Lubrano wants to make sure everyone understands reasoning:

Let us also understand the role of LT Governor. In the case of Penn State, having a Penn Stater in that position will definitely influence the selection of gubernatorial appointees to the BOT. We need this help to better our chances of being in a stronger position of influence.
