Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I really mean it. A 12 year old who lives right there in Pennsylvania told me...and he's the same guy that told me Finkel is Einhorn. It's a done deal.

Not sure Franklin will take it; I think he would have already made the jump. It's tough to turn down based on his background but I think he realizes what he's built at Vandy, the upgrades they've done, his relationship with the AD, and the fact that he IS the program there and at PSU he'll just be 'not Joe'. I hope he continues to build on his own possible legacy.

Franklin might be waiting for the Maryland job to open up .... he was passed over once, and proven to be better than Etsell (sp?)

Don't be surprised if he takes it. That's a lot of cash to turn down, and he's used to going to extreme lengths to recruit and put the school's name out there.
Not being a bad X's and O's guy helps him, too.

Agreed, but he already makes quite a bit (reportedly 3 mill plus and I'm sure he'll get a raise). If he leaves, I don't think it'll be a money based decision as I can't imagine PSU would pay anything over 4 mill.

I'm thinking he'll ultimately pass on the PedSU job. He's already brought the Vandy program from the dregs to being a moderately respectable one. Why would he want to leave that for another re-building job? I think he'll bide his time there and look for a job at a more established place.

Because BOB actually let the place in better condition than he got it, unlike Vandy where Franklin had to build from scratch.
