Which, if you noticed, I said is an arguable point - that the univ, fan base, etc. was a tangential contributor in this in that they created a context where this occured. But if this were Ohio State, I suspect that you would be on the other side of this argument.

As I said in the "Who do you hate more...." thread, you just don't understand until you've lived among them. These sick fuckers would literally hold the kid in place and let Sandusky do what he wanted if it meant Pedterno would get a few more wins.

Your reasoning seems to be inconsistent. How in the hell is taking scholarships away from Penn State punishing "the kids now?"

Reduced scholarhips plays a role in CF so punishing the current kids and future kids that had nothing to do with the pedofile, JoePa, etc... The reduced schollys make it harder to compete so why punish them. Punish the institution.

How in the hell can you say that in one breath, and in the next talk about how a bowl ban is fine because it punishes the institution (and presumably not the "kids now")?

I said bowl payouts not bowl ban. Believe it or not there is a difference.

In my opinion, you'd be better off arguing return the possibility of going to a bowl, but keep the scholarship reductions.

Fair enough. It was an unprecedented scenario and case so there are bound to be varying opioions one way or the other.
