Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...will-give-nittany-lions-best-backfield-in-b1g

Penn State redshirt freshman Akeel Lynch earned praise from the coaches during spring practice. Aside from looking strong in practices, he posted a solid performance in the annual Blue-White game. Lynch joins 2012 starters Zach Zwinak and Bill Belton to give Penn State the best backfield in the Big Ten.
While there are questions surrounding the quarterback position in Happy Valley, the Nittany Lions will boast a talented group of running backs who all have a different skill set for the 2013 season.

I only post this because the Pedster who wrote it is someone I went to High School with....

OMFG! Look outz! Facts! Evidints!!!!!!!!
There is another article on that website where they claim that Bill O'Brien is the best hire in the last 5 to 10 years. I'll say that he did seem to do well in an incredibly difficult situation, But it seems beyond premature to suggest what was written.

Penn State really is going to move their games around the country and internationally.

http://www.mcall.com/sports/mc-penn-state-football-ireland-20130503,0,3441306.story

A PSU beat reporter speculated, right after the sanctions, that the athletic department would move games to make sure they could draw attendance during the sanctions.

Who in Ireland would want to watch those two teams? I will larf my ass off when they only draw 20,000.

Notre Dame playing in Ireland made some sense - they are a Catholic school, with the "Irish" mascot and are one of the biggest brand names in sports. This game would be a backwoods cult and a commuter school whose only obvious connection would be opposing head coaches with Irish surnames.

The crash to reality for some of them (most of them will always live in denial) is going to be fun to watch.

I've been going back and forth a bit with the author via PMs on facebook. Apparently, they think that a spring game is indicative of what they'll do in-season because McGloin looked "so good last year" in the spring game and then it carried over.

I still asked him what made that better than what Ohio State/Wisconsin and even scUM and Sparty are bringing to the table, and he couldn't name one player from scUM or Wisconsin at all, much less make a comparative analysis. He also thought Hyde played every game last year and that Smith was a converted WR.

I'm about to give up. :slappy:

Because playing UCF in Ireland makes sense.

We're just getting started with the sanctions.

They don't want a half-empty stadium in State College when those sanctions are really going.

It'll be like Penn State against UConn in Mexico City by 2015.

BTW look at least year's season finale - the stadium was half empty.

It was on their "announced" season average. The only game they actually drew was the OSU game (only one over 100k).

Notre Dame gets an appearance fee for its games in Europe. I don't know if PSU has the same deal.

ummm what does that have to do with anything I said?

And I don't really give a fuck about NoSuch Dame's deal either.

Fuck the Pedsters, they shouldn't be playing football AT ALL.

"Well, kid, you can't play in a bowl game, but we'll have some cool vacations! So... COME TO PENN STATE!"

Didn't thy argue against death penalty so the local businesses could STAY in business? So much of their income comes from home games. Now they get their way (no death penalty), and then they voluntarily leave State College. Hm.
