Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Somebody needs to go to the "share your memories" section and recount the time joepa flung his poop at them when they were milling about his lawn...

Didn't see it pop up right away, so maybe they're screening these.

My fondest memory of Coach Paterno was when I was only nine years old. I had been invited into the Penn State locker room by Coach Jerry Sandusky, and he and I were engaged in an intense soap battle in the shower. Coach Paterno came over, and I was so excited. I think he must not have had his glasses on because he just turned and walked away without seeing us....even though he was staring right at us.

Here's something I love about that 410 fund website, in big bold text on the front page:

Without our players, we have nothing.

Nothing? Really? Here I was under the impression that you had a rather large number of faculty, students, staff, large research endowment... you know, all those things a university has. But without football you have nothing? And these are the silly twits that get bent out of shape when people tell them they're too obsessed with football? As always, makes total sense.

In other news, it looks like my favorite guy aurabass may have finally gone too far into the realm of absurdity even for the folks on the Scout.com Penn State message boards:

Funniest part of the story:

The lawsuit said McQueary learned his contract was not being renewed, meaning he no longer was a university employee, from a news conference held in July by the university's new president, Rodney Erickson. He said his salary last year was $140,000 and his future earnings as a coach would amount to at least $4 million.

ORLY?!?

If he coached for 28 more years at $140,000 per year, he would indeed make $4 mil. Seeing as he is 37 years old, he'd only have to remain in coaching until age 65 which is not unusual at all. And that's not figuring in increases in salary or promotions.

Hey, shitnuts. To be a "whistle-blower" you actually have to....you know....blow the fucking whistle.

And also, good luck proving that this is why you weren't retained. How many assistants are typically retained when a new coach is hired?

Wow. That guy is out there. I will actually be disappointed if he turns out to be a troll. I am hoping for a major meltdown with this guy being found screaming at himself naked on a street corner (ala the Kony 2012 guy for defrauding people) when everything he has said turns out to be completely false (as I am sure it is).

I also find it funny that the armchair lawyers think that the 410 fund is going to pass muster with the NCAA. Although, I think I found a loophole to where ANY D1 football player is eligible which would not make it specific to pedster walk-ons, so I think we should start sending in applications from Illinois walk-ons. :paranoid:
