Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Then again, maybe Barry O'Blumpkin will just employ the Paterno strategy: He just won't answer the phone. If they don't speak to you, they didn't decommit, damnit!

Hi, this is Coach Bob O'Brasky. Please leave a message. However, you have the right to remain silent. Everything you say will be recorded and will be used against you by the NCAA. So think very carefully if you really want to leave a message. WE ARE... NOT HERE!

Please leave a message after bee-e-eeeep.
I must be out or I'd pick up the phone.
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I'm not home."

Man...their program is just a crater for the foreseeable future. I just don't see them ever recovering. I thought the death penalty was worse until I read that the kids in their freshman class to play their next bowl eligible season are currently in 8th grade, and the freshman who will make up their first complete 85 schollie class are now 4th graders. That is a whole lot to overcome. Yeah, O'Brien has a Patriots pedigree or whatever, but it seems like the coordinators in New England (Weis. Crennell, McDanials etc) never had any luck...and those were guys Belichick actually wanted to keep. Belichick only hes coordinators because the NFL makes him.

Penn State is screwed. Those kids are all saying they will stay, but we will see how that goes when other coaches get in their ears. The only guys not leaving will be Seniors or kids who are only actively pursued bu CUSA programs. And they will lose every single current commit for 2013. I'm going to enjoy seeing a half full Beaver Stadium and watching Penn State get pummeled for the next decade.

The good news is that the division is basically us and Wiscy...add in the crap their Krispy Cream coach was talking after Urban assured him a class with only one four star, and I see a very one sided rivalry brewing between the Badgers and Buckeyes. We will make the next 8 out of 10 Big Ten Championship Games.

We should probably just yank Pedo State's conference membership and CIC money...but keep the however many decades of TV rights and do nothing with them.

From BWI a breakout of the sanctions based on the text from the NCAA:

2012 bowl ban 85 total scholies
2013 bowl ban 15 recruit limit 85 total scholies
2014 bowl ban 15 recruit limit 65 total scholies
2015 bowl ban 15 recruit limit 65 total scholies
2016 no bowl ban 15 recruit limit 65 total scholies
2017 no bowl ban 25 recruit limit 65 total scholies

I couldn't see how they could be restricted to 65 total this year, but am surprised to see it doesn't kick in for two years. What is particularly interesting is 2017. To use 25 ships in 2017 and stay at 65 they would only be able to bring over 40 scholarship players from 2016.

I also find it interesting that the first two years they become bowl eligible again will probably be the years where they have the weakest roster. Good luck with that.

If it were to happen, smacking the cult in the face, along with teabagging scUM's smug asses in the NCAAs...OU might just become a preferred walk-on.

They're fucked for the better part of the decade. Not only will they be razor thin depth wise, they just became Indiana in terms or recruiting talent. Those teams from 2016 on are going to be very weak. They've essentially been made a doormat for the better part of a decade, if not longer. This isn't going to be USC reeling in 5* kids despite the sanctions. This is a university in some little sparrow-fart town, with a heavily stained reputation, and nothing to offer football wise for a long time. They got "horseplayed".

Yeah. Um, yeah.

Some of those comments about who is running the NCAA are totally out of line, and I wish that the people who posted that stuff could be tracked down and prosecuted for a hate crime. That is truly a disgusting display of human waste.

Yeah! Fuck the First Amendment! There oughta be a law against sayin' stupid, crazy stuff like that!

On a serious note, if you just want to track them down and beat the stupid out of them; that would be ok.

Someone on Wikipedia has changed the "Penn State Nittany Lions Football" page. Every reference to "Joe Paterno" has been changed to "Jerry Sandusky"

That is freaking brilliant. In an effort to fix it, a JoePedO puppet will go in and do a global search-and-replace ([Joe Paterno] for [Jerry Sandusky]). The finished product will, for a short time at least, say (among other things) that "...Joe Paterno was found in the shower with...".

Brilliant
