Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

This is hard to post, but I just watched Desmond Howard - and he absolutely nailed it.

The players aren't victims. They have a choice. If they love Penn State they can stay there and play and get an education. If the bowl games and all that goes with it are more important they can transfer.

The victims (he unfortunately kept saying "damned" victims) who were in a room with a burly coach didn't have a choice.

The issue here is not whether we broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with our ten year old guests. We did. But you can't hold a whole football program responsible for the behavior of a few, sick perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole intercollegiate athletic system? And if the whole intercollegiate athletic system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Mark Emmert: isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!

But will USC be able to accept a transfer while under probation that doesn't count against the scholarship limit? Same for Ohio State.

OSU could accept one transfer while having scholarship reductions because they have 81 of the 82 spots filled (Bobek transferring gave us the open spot). USC might be in a similar situation, regardless of how the NCAAA rules.

Thought I heard that any transfers would count towards next year's number, so don't see it really affecting any program with limited schollies.

Have to think UGA & possibly Bama will be players here as well.

Apparantly Michigan State is asking to speak to a ton of players. Oklahoma is in on Redd too.

Now is it even worth bolstering our receiving corp with what Penn State has? Any freshman on the roster that could be promising?
