Well, according to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports during the Jim Tressel situation, Ohio State was bathing in money from bowl revenue (even though he never actually did the math).

If the Big Ten withheld money from the CIC, that would hit Penn State harder (the B1G didn't do that though).

Their last win is now against Wiscy in November, 1997. They lost their bowl game that year.

The Alamo Bowl was after the 1999 season - it's one of the bowls that Jerry took a kid with him on the trip.

I'd hope the NCAA isn't finish investigating Penn State, even though Emmert more/less said the NCAA isn't that good at investigating.

I don't know about that.

They already opened up a lot of stuff to the Freeh group. NCAA investigators would not get that level of access and are almost entirely powerless in a case like this. Penn State isn't scared of them, I think they just realize that any form or resistance or protest would be disastrous from a PR standpoint.
