I could be way off, but I don't really see him leaving for the PSU job. He pretty much has it made at Indiana. He's 64 years old and making $8 mil a year right know. If he can keep them at the level they are right now or even maintain 9-10 win seasons for 5-6 years, he can retire as a legend and the Hoosiers would probably build a statue of him. They have never had that kind of success in their history. Why leave that for the pressure cooker job at PSU, and have to deal with everything there plus the Cult? I sure as Hell wouldn't.

They had a day and time when they could get elite talent to come to Lincoln. Once that changed, the remoteness of that place and lack of a natural recruiting ground bit them in the ass hard.

I see a lot of similarity at Penn State. Pennsylvania doesn't turn out the volume of top end guy like it used to and the DMV isn't theirs anymore either. You have to probably over pay a tad on NIL and who is their Daddy Morebucks? I ask because it isn't Ohio when everyone in the state is a huge fan of the one school. Philly is a pro sports town. Pitt hates their guts and the middle is a vast wilderness.
