Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Taken from shaggy.

Exhibit 3B is an email discussion (From Pres Spanier replying to AD Curly) about the offer to make Sandusky a professor Emeritus despite his lack of qualifications. But ignore that. It briefly changes course and documents how Joe wants to see if anything can be done for Joe Sarra, a defensive coach that Joe wants to take care of. Spanier says "We are looking for a dean of the Eberly College Science. Does Joe Sarra have any background there?"

I hope the CIC and AAU are taking note of this! That place and Imperial Grand Wizard Paterno used the academic side of the university to pass off washed up defensive coaches as fucking Deans. We're not talking about giving them a job in the AD or as a fundraiser or as some fixer for the President, but as a Dean of the fucking College of Science.

Ped Aggy faculty, what say you?

Wow. Just wow.

Shut down the PSU program and require all players to transfer to East Carolina where the new battle cry will be:

I think over $100 million is kind of high, in terms of solely payout settlements, but if the average victim count of child molesters is really 150 (according to a study), then that number may be low

And if Jerry Sandusky molested over 100, they should shut down the entire athletic department (not just football).

But the cost to Penn State could be more severe than anyone imagined. The university could eventually fork out more than $100 million to victims of Jerry Sandusky's child molestation, experts say...

...But McCann acknowledges the real possibility that new victims could come forward, emboldened by the courage shown by the victims who testified against Sandusky. Fewer than a dozen took the stand, but one study found that men who molest boys average 150 victims. "Let's face it," McCann said. "There must be other victims. That's why Penn State should get closure."

Sadly, this doesn't surprise me. I'm just glad they're being exposed as the frauds they are...from top to bottom.

There was an instance in the 90s when Penn State wanted something and the Department of Defense denied it under national security guidelines. They had Paterno call the Vice President to get it overturned, which it was. I don't think it's possible to overstate Paterno's influence in any area.

The first article is probably spot on but the second one is a disgusting attempt by Whitlock to intertwine a sex abuse scandal in with his noted agenda against a playoff system. How do you end a column about something like this with "but enjoy your playoffs"? And I sometimes like Jason Whitlock.
I didn't take away that the playoffs were the point... I took away that the NCAA only cares about revenue.. not safety, education or anything.. but revenue

Which was a similar point when folks were discussing why was it so bad to sell/trade one's own memorabilia for something they wanted... because the NCAA was cut out of the revenue stream... not that it gave the team or players any competitive advantage.. which is supposed to be the focus of the rules...
