Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Is there a real Nixon thing?

Is it remarkable that I have to ask that question?

There is actually an ESPN 30 for 30 that focuses on Nixon shafting poor Joesus out of the 1969 national title. The episode is titled "Nixon's National Champs." Of course, Joesus and PSU could have went to the Cotton Bowl and played Texas for the national title. But Joesus ducked No 1. Texas to play No. 6 Missouri in the Orange Bowl.

Sanctimonious prick that he was, Joesus reacted with indignation when Nixon's Presidency became entangled in scandal. The Cult has built Joesus' holier than thou quote into the stuff of legend over the decades.

"I've wondered how President Nixon could know so little about Watergate in 1973 and so much about college football in 1969," Paterno said at the 1973 PSU commencement.

Nope, no irony at all in that Joesus quote.

Conspiracy?
What's more likely:
A coach that went his whole 40+ year career without any major NCAA infraction, suspended players for games if they missed class, and donated millions of his own money back to the University and to the Special Olympics - knowingly and intentionally participating in a cover-up of child molestation by a former employee whom he did not like, to win more football games.
OR
Penn State getting screwed by the B1G refs on multiple occasions due to an implicit bias because 1) This is the conference of Ohio State and Michigan and 2) "You're lucky you're playing at all."

One is a stretch and the other is not. Yeah, conspiracy theories...

It is obviously a well-known FACT that if someone donates to the Special Olympics, the person could not possibly be an enabler to protect his own self-interests. Along those same lines, a person starting a charity to help needy boys could not possibly by a pedophile. Oh, wait...

As with many groups, including everyone supporting either candidate for president this year, most of their arguments are seen to be obviously false by anyone with common sense and a reasonable knowledge of history.

But this tool has made an argument so fatuous that it can be seen to be obviously false by even the average American.

Most people have very little knowledge of history, but examples of people who did good works very publicly while being a total sleaze privately are so common that anyone who remembers even one day of elementary school history class will see through the claim that such people don't exist.

Step one is complete. They've lost to Michigan with the refs blowing some calls.

Step Two will be when THE baboon fucks them in the erector set.

Here's another golden nugget

https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/another-bag-of-manure-from-usa-today.148548/

Containing this beauty
I am never moving on - even if it means the end of psu. Wouldn't it be interesting if psu football eventually dies and with it the university and then there is no more psu in the big ten. Let's see how the big ten does with just Maryland and Rutgers on its eastern flank. I doubt you will have much of a network or future tv deals - by the way, here's hoping for continued cord cutting. But that's a little off point, so let's talk about a truly obsessed football culture in Columbus Ohio that let a sick, demented, borderline psychopath, John Wayne Gacy lookalike to verbally and physically abuse players for decades - Woody Hayes. See how this works - I'm now qualified to write for USA Today.

All upset over this gem (pretty good assessment btw of the ped state job):
